Amazing what a couple of game would do for you. Here's what the Spurs fan have to say about Yao dominate performance vs the Suns. They're in awe of his performance, never thought they would give him such high praise after we beaten them twice. http://*************/forums/showthread.php?t=29036&page=1&pp=20 "I am seriously speechless at Ming's stat line... 35 mins, 2 pts, 10-18, 7-9 FT, 22 rebounds (9 off), 2 TOs (I think he's in the top 10 for most TOs), 5 freaken blocks. Damn, damn, damn." "Yao is so powerful and dominant in this game... 27+22+5+ Oh...too powerful..." "ming is making the suns front line his *****!!!" "How about Yao Ming? Gobbling up all the rebounds, shutting down Amare in the 4th, 5 blocks. 9pts in the 4th and counting? I guess we'd have to say Shawn Marion is MVP!" "YESSS, I'll never call you 'T-Whack' ever again Tracy Ming's line is crazy tonight, as is McGrady's." "Yao is so dominant in this game." "Go Ming! Damn, ugh, I keep trying forget about the Rockets but they are damn scary." "The Rockets may be better designed for the playoffs than most teams in the West. Whichever top 4 team has to face them in the first round may have their hands full. Getting into the second round is a distinct possibility"
The Spurs obviously root for all teams to beat the Suns... but they'll soon realize who their true rival is (and whom they should never really "root" for). Here's to some vicious Spurs vs. Rockets battles in the next few years, as long as we have our full contingent of players.
More choice Spurs-fan comments: "Yao 14pts 10 rbds in the 4th quarter. Oh, and 4 of his 5 blocks were on Amare!" "Wow, that was hard rooting for Houston. Rockets put it to the Suns by 20. Marion out of the lineup hurt Phoenix. Oh, well Suns share of 1st place didn't last long. Now the Spurs can go back to number one seed and I can continue to loathe Houston again." "The West is scary strong. Think about it. You take a team like Houston 6th or Memphis 7th in the West, put them in the East and they are easily the 3rd best team there! Houston just racked up two huge road victories in a row at Seattle and at Phoenix. and that's saying something." "This says a lot about Phoenix though...they can't win in the playoffs needing 111 to win..it's ridiculous....Houston would beat them in a 7 game series, they can't grind with tough teams...." "Yao needs to play like this every night. Looking forward to the game on Easter." "i told people in here houston is my scare [sic] in the playoffs! thanks houston." It's really sweet gettin' some love from a rival team's fans.
uuuh....thats is a link to a bbs thread page...I find it entirely unlikely that the Spurs Report forum has a virus it just gave you..
Last night David Wesley was being interviewed on NBATV and they asked him... "At this point in the season are you guys concentrating on playoff seeding because yall are probably a year or two away from the championship?" Wesley went on to say that he agrees that they are worrying about seeding but "WHO SAYS WE'RE NOT THINKING CHAMPIONSHIP THIS YEAR?" The Spurs don't want to see the Rockets it in the playoffs.
I loved that, I was watching it live and said "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS GUY TALKING ABOUT!!" You could see when he said that DW started noding his head YES we are.... I was pissed, then the guy started back tracking and stuff...
I can't believe they asked him that. This team has a good deal of experience, everybody in the starting lineup has been to the playoffs, and pretty much everybody on the bench as been the the playoffs and even have Finals and championship experience. Why would we wait a year or two for a championship run? How come the Suns and Sonics play well and they're title contender now, but the Rockets play well and it's "oh, you're playing at a high level now, but you're not a title contender." Why? Because Seattle and Phoenix would have one extra home playoff game then us? The Rockets showed what they thought of Phoenix and Seattle's homecourt.
IMHO, the championship is wide open. The game is about matchups and we match up well with all the top seeds. As long as we come to play and not half step, we can beat any team. The only established playoff veteran teams are the Spurs, Kings, and Dallas. The only team I take seriously as a team that can win it all amongst them is the Spurs. I know we match up well against the Spurs and have a good chance to beat them in a 7 game series.
To be honest, I don't want to play Dallas in the playoffs. Piece of crap Bradley earns his entire years salary when playing Yao. Yao just can't deal looking at a man eye-to-eye even though Bradley can't hold Yao's jock strap. Then suddenly Bradley has career games everytime he plays Houston. I think I'd rather play Shaq and Miami before Dallas.
Didn't Yao put 30 pts on Bradley last year (or was it 2 years ago)? What "career games" are talking about? Really?
