his free throw (5/9) is at shaq's level though, maybe because of weight training.

It's only a warm up game. Yao has gotten plenty of rest this offseason. So think of these two exhibitions against Iceland and the Asian Championships as a way for Yao to get into basketball shape for training camp.

There are stranger things. Apparently, the US has a soccer team.

same thing i thought. the only thing i know about iceland is bjork.

anyway, i'd rather see yao hit the weights and work on stamina (like the articles we've been seeing) rather than getting back accustomed to playing against inferior competition and ruining his game.

19 and 9 in 20 minutes sounded pretty good until I saw that picture.

I know Yao is a really good free throw shooter, but he's in a funk right now. He missed a lot of free throws under pressure against the Mavs in the playoffs. I hope it doesn't put any doubt in his mind.

That's how Antoine Walker turned from Larry Bird to Shaq in terms of free throw shooting.

Free throw shooting is more about confidence than mechanics. T-Mac has the same sort of problem once in a while

that ball looks to be the size of my fist. is it really that small or is it just that yao makes it look small? even in the one where yao is getting the rebound it looks small...

Yao has huge hands. I'm pretty sure they use regular bball.
