That schedule shows "USA vs. TBA" for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals!!!!!!!!!!!

I realize we will be fielding the best team but isn't this just a little bit presumptive?? Why even have the tournament in the first place if you've already announced the winner?

I guess the webmaster for nba.com wanted to create the schedule
    before the weekend? :D

But, you're right. We aren't talking about the "Dream Team."

    I guess, over-all, we're still the best.

I agree that it's a little too presumptive. While the USA once again clearly has the best players (btw, I LOVE the addition of Ben Wallace--who I had hoped would be added--as a role player, something the 2000 team did not have). However, Team USA only practices for a handful of days before the competition. Don't be surprised if the USA is defeated by Yugoslavia, a team featuring five NBA players (Divac, Stojakovic, Radmanovich, Drobnjak, Jaric) and probably several others who could compete for an NBA roster spot. That team has had much more time to prepare than Team USA (they all do). If George Karl and his staff are not prepared with a solid gameplan, Team USA is in a lot of trouble, especially given that international competition is quickly gaining on the USA. I still say USA beats Team Yugo in the finals, but just don't be shocked if Yugoslavia is crowned as World Champion.

On August 22nd team USA plays China in an exhibition in Oakland. The real game will be August 31st in Indiana. Both would be fun to watch but I believe only the real game is going to be televised.

i would love to see yao go perfect from the feild against the USA team.

im still a little worried about his rebounding #'s.

but he can score, he can block, and in a couple of years he will rebound too.
