A lot of people worry about Yao's summer schedule. They all believe that Yao should get some rest. But they all say that Yao will be forced to participate in the Chinese national team (NT) training camp before the Olympics. That kind of camp is usually very brutal. In addition there will be a lot of practice games showing in public. The whole thing will be very exhausting. I agree with that. I believe that Yao needs to have a summer schedule that will benefit both the Rox and the Chinese (NT).

The biggest reason Yao will be "forced" to "practice" is money. With Yao on that Chinese NT, they make tons of money every practice game they play. Tickets will be sold very quickly at a higher price. In order to make more maney they will travel all over the country to "practice". People are chasing Yao where ever he goes... even restrooms. It is crazy. (Yao does not get paid for all that financial gains of the NT.) It is hard to avoid such brutal training by those under-qualified coaches.

Yao is such a loyal person that you can hardly think that he would do what Wang did to the Chinese NT. How he can spend the summer according to his own schedule without upsetting the Chinese NT and losing his own loyalty to the Chinese NT?

People around Yao have to think of some ways to so. They should let him know that he is the center piece of the Chinese NT and does not need to practice with the team for 2.5 months to be effective. They need to make Yao understand that ten 2 session days in 2 weeks should be penty, and he will get a lot of workouts in the US based on his own schedule and expert advice that the Rox can provide prior to joining the Chinese NT at the end of July. They should make sure that Yao agrees that, by doing so, he will be well rested for the Olympics and be prepared for the next NBA season.

I got an idea. How about fake an injury: after Rox get eliminated from the playoffs (by the Lakers, of course), Yao will be too sad and fall off a stairway by accident and injure both legs. Thus he will have to stay here in the US for "treatment". By the time the Chinese team leave for EU (assuming they can make them leave at the end of July), Yao then goes to EU directly from the US (to save a few Jet lags) to join them.

Anyway, Yao need to have his own summer schedules to prolong his NBA career.

Do not need to find some trick way or lying. Yao only need to negotiate with China NT and get exemptin from training camp or a much short one for NT.

There are tons of hot chicks in Houston for Yao to pick, marry an American girl & he will break the CBA shackle.

Right now CBA is milking him like a jersey cow, dude got a non-stopping schedual for the next 3 years. At this rate, he will burn out ...

that is my single greatest fear....emotional and physical burn out. a human body that size simply can't keep that kind of physical exertion up year round for the number of years yao is obligated to the national team for.

the chinese govt needs to smarten up and realize a couple things. their practices don't work and that yao doesn't need that much stress put on his body year round.

Are u joking my friend? That sounds like a gulag, not a basketball camp. Obviously you're clueless. China NT only practice in Beijing. As for the exhibition games, China will play top flight competition a couple of times before the olympics. But the ultimate goal is to win the Olympics and they need a fresh Yao. So don't expect him to play too much before the start of Olympics.
