NEW YORK, May 26 – Ray Allen of the Seattle SuperSonics led all players in votes to earn his fourth consecutive First Team appearance on the NBA All-Interview team when the NBA Public Relations Directors Association (NBAPRDA) announced the 2003-04 All-Interview teams today.

Rounding out the First Team are Steve Nash of the Dallas Mavericks (17 votes) with his third selection and Seattle’s Brent Barry (16 votes) with his second selection. It's amazing that someone who doesn't even speak much English receives seven votes.

But you got to admit that when it gets translated, he does usually give some good quotes, and he's a pretty accessible guy. And he does speak a lot of English, just not to the media as of yet. I expect Yao won't have Colin next year. It seems like the right time for him to move on.

Mo Taylor is a good interview. Has anyone ever noticed that his quotes are basically half of every Chronicle aticle about the Rockets?

It should be, but in reality isn't.

What the hell makes Malone a good interview?

Shaq is on prestige. If a lesser player came out with his comments, he'd be considered an idiot.

Allen, Nash, and Brand are all bright by NBA standards, and Nash in particular seems to have more going on than just basketball. Haven't noticed anything about O'Neal or Barry, though the latter's dad was pretty sharp, so I guess it makes sense.

Polite, maybe, but not all boring. Nash's war comments come to mind as not exactly run of the mill mediaspeak...
