Last year, Ma Jian, the former player for the University of Utah, came to Provo, Utah, where I go to school, on a business trip. I recognized him on a BBQ party and chatted with him. When we mentioned Yao Ming, Ma told me that he was once appointed by the national team to help Yao Ming in strength training (he can't play for the national team himself since he was kicked out just like Wang Zhizhi was). He said just a year ago (two years from now), Yao was so weak that he COULDN'T DO FIVE PUSHUPS! Yao got frustrated and quitted after just doing three or so, and he hated strength training all together).

Obviously, Yao can do more than just 3 pushups now(I hope :( ), and that's an improvement isn't it? When I asked Ma how he predicts Yao's NBA future, he said Yao has a future, but he's not ready yet. I think he just got sour grape for not being able to play in the NBA himself (he tried really hard, but didn't make it).

I know this is out of date, but just like to share it with you anyway.
    ;)

So where is the part where Ma Jian said Yao's strength is improving?

Sorry codell, that's my logic mistake. Ma didn't say it, and I should say "according to Ma Jian's word and our own observation". My bad.
