Yao Ming's show time again. China vs Italy (second round)

Yao Ming experienced a terrible failure two days ago.

Australia vs China: Yao Ming played 25 minutes, and only had 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists. This maight be the worst records for him since the game of China and USA at 2000 Olympic.

He was criticized widely by the coach, media and fans.

    ------------------------------------------------
Wang Fei (Chinese head coach):The top pick doesn't mean he is good enough. Yao Ming needs more improvement to play the best of the world.

Chinese media : He is slow and lack of the consciousness of rebound.

Chinese fan: He is too weak to hold the position under the basket.

American fans (on this board): Yao Ming is a bust. Trade Ming.

Su Qun (the reporter that I like): After the draft, Yao Ming's talking is less and less, and his anxiety is more and more. He is a sensitive kid. #1 pick gives him a huge pressure. He should get rid of this pressure as soon as possible.

Yao Ming: I am too tired.

    ------------------------------------------------------

I don't want to blame Yao Ming. In fact, he had the highest assists (3) in that game among all the Chinese players. The coach needs to think about his tactics. Now, Yao Ming is not the Yao Ming before June 26th. All the opponents try to defend him by all means.

Today, another game is coming. Can Yao Ming recover from that failure and prove himself? I doubt it.

China vs Italy: 07/05 7:00 am houston time.

At the first round, Yao Ming gained 28 points and shot a ball when he was still sitting on the floor.

Italian coach said after that game:"At first, we only used one player to defend Yao Ming. But I found that Yao Ming got a lot of scores easily. Then we changed the tactic and began to use multi-players to surround him. This tactic is successful."

Italy had 13 (or 14) 3points at that game.

A Chinese report said:" At this game, Yao Ming had to keep one of his eyes on the center of Italian team, another eye on the Italian players who stood at the 3point line." (Yao Ming is a genius. I cannot put my two eyes on different objects.)

Let's waiting for the result of today's game. Good luck, Yao Ming.

    Don't worry windandsea.

If the Rockets could get 9 points, 10 boards, 3 assists and 4 blocks out of Kelvin Cato every night . . . hehe

Those that say Yao Ming is a bust, trade him are very few. I'm sure that the average Rockets basketball fan will give him a fair chance.

Let me add that Houston fans and press have a reputation for giving players more chances and more support. New York and Chicago fans/press scream 'bust' and 'get out of town' faster than anyone.

Yao was very lucky to land with Houston.

It's not this 16 year old kid that nbadraft.net has going as the 2nd pick in next year's NBA draft is it? I doubt it. He's probably was too young to be on the national team.

Thanks for keeping us updated in the other thread, by the way.
