I bet it's misinterpretation. Colin probably asked him what's most memorable in his rookie season. And Yao probably refered to a minor crash his car suffered on Rockets practice area (there's something about it on the ESPN magazine story). It's a funny incident.

It amazes me how the concept of sarcasm seems to elude so many people. It was not a mistranslation. Just a sarcastic remark from Yao. Same as when he said his favourite thing in Houston was the traffic.
