The official Rockets site has a challenge to find a nickname for Yao Ming. Stevie is the "Franchise" and Cuttino is the "Cat". There's a lot of creative people here on the BBS and I'm just interested to see what nicknames the posters here could come up with since the official site is not posting results.

The Chinese have a nickname for Yao, Bateer, and Zhi Zhi which is the "Walking Wall". How about we keep that and call him Yao the "Wall" Ming? Not too creative, I know but it's fitting.

This should be a no-brainer: "The Dynasty" (as in the Ming Dynasty of Chinese History) :D ! I know, I know - everyone will say that we should wait until he begins to play, but if S.F. can be The Franchise before the first whistle is blown, then Yao can be "The Dynasty" :)

This guy already comes with his own nickname. How many variations of Yao have we seen?

    Yao-sa Yao-sa Yao-sa.....It's Yao or never....etc

When Mobley wants the ball from Ming is the Cat just gonna look at him and say "Me Yao!!!!"

I hope I don't have to explain that one later.

In Chinese the word "Dream" is "Mung"(pronounced Moong)....

    So how about:

    Yao "The Mung" Ming
