Check this out, his line over the last four games:

    19.5 pts/game
    14.5 rebounds/game
    2.75 blks/game
    33.5 min/game

This doesn't suck! If he ends the season avg. 15 pts, 10 reb and 2blks I think the rockets are in the playoffs. Thoughts?

well i personally think the rockets are one of the deepest teams in the league.

You look at thier starters and you can easily see a case for 3 players getting 40 mins a game (Cat, francis and Ming)

that leaves just 2 player rotations to spread minutes to the bench (SF, and PF).

you look at last nights boxscore with Rice, morris, and griffing with 20 plus minutes, moochie and Cato with 16 and 13 minutes and it's easy to see that Rudy T knows how to spread mintutes.

It's going to be hard to get minutes when ming gets 35 minutes, cat gets 43 and francis is getting 42.

When the rockets have Rice, morris, griffin, norris, cato, hawkins, and Mo Taylor all waiting for minutes, that is a deep team.

If Ming can keep up the pace, this should easily be a top 3 playoff team for the west and possibly a finals representative.

Francis can carry a team, and is injury free, Ming is easily becoming the 2nd best center in the league and rest of the cast i mentioned would be starters on many teams.

Where are all the people who wanted to trade down rather than take Yao Ming? Where are all the people who said he was two to four years away from being a "decent" center?

I still cant get over Yao's passing. WOW!

That touch/jai lai pass that he made to Francis ...well ....I dont know about yall, but Ive never seen anything like that. I kept having flashbacks to Magic Johnson with some of the passes he was making. I know I am probably being over dramatic. Perhaps I am just not use to seeing a player on the Rockets who can make passes like that.

Yao will no doubt put up the scoring and rebounding numbers. I think the thing that will get him the most love around the NBA will indeed be his passing and court vision.

For Yao to finish the season averaging 15 pts, 10 reb and 2 blks he needs to average 16 pts, 11 reb and 2.1 blks the rest of the way. The way he has been playing I would think this is very possible.

There is no doubt that Yao brings SO much to the table...These are the kinds of multifacted players that help lead to championships,...we may be contending for one sooner than many people thought possible.

...And like it was stated, we are showing deep depth and quality in players overall. I love that Rice is showing up this year. Griffin, Steve, Cuttino, etc....it's better than good.

I know as a lifetime magic fan, when Shaq came to Orlando, many of us didn't know 'when' he would blossom.

after getting a complementary player (Penny) in his sophmore year with the magic, the slogan "why not us, why not NOW" started appearing everywhere.

With shaq just 3 years in the league and Penny, just 2, most of the press felt the Magic couldn't go deep in the playoffs.

Well as most Rocket fans know, the Magic were there at the finals with a VERY young team.

I never thought I'd root for the Rockets after that, but after hearing the same B.S. about the rockets from the press, I believe that this young team has what it takes "RIGHT NOW".
