Warning: Posters have to read this with grains of salt because this article is from Wang Meng.

But if this is true, then I start to worry about this team......

Sometimes too hands-off and laissez-faire, and let the players to have too much freedom and make their own decision on court might not be a good thing.

    Thanks, pruyen.

I sure hope the Rockets aren't imploding.

I find it hard to believe the translation on most of the articles that pryuen posts here. Certain people sound like completely different people when their quotes come from these sina articles.

I take them all with a grain of salt.

Well, the article is not from sina.com.

It is on Titan Sports, which has its website resided on tom.com.

Wang Meng works for Titan Sports, stationed in Houston, and covers extensively Yao Ming and the Rockets.

Maybe Yao Ming is saying these words for those fair-weather fans on this forum that are now yelling to trade him away. :D

I take the report w/ a grain of salt, but unlike you I don't find it that hard to believe the content...that Yao and perhaps others are beginning to think Adelman is not the right man for the job.

Our defense has gone to the crapper already and our offense looks no better than last season, especially considering our new personnel. I find it hard to believe this team will EVER have the offensive fluidity of the old Kings. First of all, TMAC is at his best with the ball in his hands, and this team will never see the kind of ball movement with Tracy playing his game...just won't happen. The Kings did not have a player who could create like TMAC so they HAD to rely on ball movement and cutters. Plus, the Kings never had a go-to inside presence like Yao on the inside.

I can't help but think this team would have been best served with JVG and adding one more slashing-type scorer in a Josh Howard, Josh Smith mold. Had we kept Rudy Gay, I truly believe we'd be champs in the next couple of years.

phil jackson people. we should have gone after him when we had the chance. the triangle fits 2 inside-out combo superstars perfectly.

u get back JVG and he's clueless on offense so it's pointless. we want upgrades.

If Adleman thought he was on the hotseat with the Maloofs in Sacremento he ain't seen nothing yet. He's inheriting a 52 win team where the fans are screaming for championship. Anything less and he'd be considered a failure. Expectations in Houston are sky high and the pressure is mounting.

You know exactly what I meant. The source is irrelevant as long as it's a translated article.

I'll say it one more time. Using the ---> as much as you do really makes you look like a snob. Although I think that's just about right, so carry on.

Adleman has been a very successful coach. This is hard for Yao because he is the type of guy that craves the discipline. In the end however, its not scouting repots that are gonna win the day. Most of this guys have been in the league for a long time. They should know what to expect from their opponents. They need to focus and learn the system and stop fixating on the "good old days".

It's not that Wang Meng is not accurate in reporting. The stuff he said in the report may very well be true, but I am taking issue with his intention of reporting this kind of stuff. I mean WTF does he know about coaching. It's like saying the current CEO is not as good as the former because he doesnt stay on the job as long as the former. This Wang Meng is a moron IMO.

exactly...and our new slogan says it all. If this team doesn't make it to the second round, fuggetaboutit. That said, we can win 40 games....if we make it to the playoffs and do well, the regular season will be forgotten. That's the one knock I had on VG...we never seemed to peak at the right time, and we didn't seem to be able to make in-series adjustments.

 How about the intention of the author of this article
Don't we all want Yao to speak up? Some of you have issue that he says different things between Chinese and English media. Now he is speaking to the English media. Oh wait, maybe the above quote was made up from the author.

After two more months of this crap we may be hearing the magic words out of Yao's mouth: "fire Adelman."

At least we know now that Yao is not exactly pleased with Adelman.

Well, I don't think Yao should say that publicly. My above post was not meant to defend Yao, but the reporter(s). I am surprised to hear Yao to say that. He must have been very frustrated. Adelman was not known for defense like JVG, though his previous team was not bad on defense.

Anyway, I think we need to be more patient. Doesn't Rockets always start slow in regular season? I will give the team till all-star break. We have to at least go to 2nd round in the playoff though. The pressure is on EVERYONE.

I agree with the clueless on offense comment. JVG only plan to stop opponent
but nothing on attacking opponent. So when we can't stop opponent well
    we lose.

Well according to another article from Wang Meng, Yao Ming was actually very pissed and frustrated with the loss. He complained about the team too slow to make in-game response and readjustment in 4Q when the Dallas Mavericks kept chipping away their lead.

I am not going to translate the full article but just 3 of Yao Ming's quotes in that article.

I understand perfectly Yao Ming anger and wanted a rematch immediately.
He'll get his chance. I also find it awkward that in his first game against Dallas Maverick back then when he was a rookie, he also scored 30 pts but still lose to them. What a coincidence.

Whatever. Just because Yao does his war-cry or whatever it is that he does (according to Chinese sources) doesn't mean that the team is in bad shape. I actually wish he'd stop doing his war-cries and just channel that anger into finishing strong.

I told myself I was going to wait a bit until I judge the team, and I'm that's what I'm going to do. Adelman is a GREAT coach by anyone's standards, and I'd be pissed off if the Rockets fired him. Good thing the Rockets org isn't run by a bunch of clueless fans.

This system is not going to work right away...everyone's still adjusting. I think everybody should just chill the **** out and watch the team get better.
