So right after the disgraceful humiliation by the lowly Philidephia 76ers yesterday, the Rockets had an urgent coach and player meeting this morning. And Yao Ming had the following to say to the media right after the meeting. I'm not going to translate the whole thing. But just the major quotes of Yao Ming:
I share his frustration. And it doesnt help that he isnt getting enough shots when he is by far our best offensive option. The offense can't continue that way.
Yao's wants some chages and I hope he gets them soon enough but I think the changes should be made within the team. Start Scola for one.
Adleman said that he wants the team to buy in wholeheartedly with his system. He doesn't want them standing around. Is this really the problem?
On losing to the sixers: WOW, I hope tmac can come back and pull his share of the load, earn your millions mac
It's one of the many problems. The great teams run their system whether they're up 20 or down 20. We have done neither consistently.
This is the game of basketball, therefore we must play good basketball to win. Pretty simple. A rule of thumb in basketball is that no one should be just standing around. Having desire, effort, heart, etc. would be good, but more simple these guys need to just buy into the system and start playing basketball the right way.
Another news on the sohu: During an radio interview today, Morey said Head was the biggest contributor in the Rockets 5 games win streak. Just wow, Is Morey delusional? How about Head's contribution in the losses to the Warriors, Celtics, Hornets and Sixers?
They were in the penalty and the team suddenly decided that it HAD to get the ball to Yao on the post...and about 5 turnovers later, the lead was gone. DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE !!! DD
Maybe it's something about being quoted in translation, but he sure comes off like a drama queen in these stories. The imagery, the emotion, the cliches... Worst moment of his life? Well, it's possible, but that's one blessed life if true. I wish he would take some ownership, such as just commenting on his own specifically dumb turnovers and then S(ing)TFU. It seems incredibly wrong to say "nobody" wanted to win. I've always really liked Yao, the guy, but I've got to quick clicking these particular threads. No offense to pryuen, as I'm sure it's a good translation. I just want to keep liking Yao.
Just heard on channel 11 news the exact quote that Yao said the Rockets are a sinking ship. Now what was interesting about that interview was that Brooks said over and over again that they need to practice entry passes and get the ball to Yao. This has got to be coming from Adleman. The team rises and falls with Yao to which I say... HELL NO! You gotta spread the ball around and don't slam the ball into Yao when he is surrounded by 3 defenders. Sheesh, what kinda motion offense we talking about here???
Yao is on the Titanic and he is going down with the ship? Didn't Blinebury recently say, "T-Mac snuck on the rowboat with the women and children".
Yao has an different attitude this season. Last season, when the Rockets lost their big lead in 4th quarter and lost the game, Yao might still feel it's a good moment in his life. How strange! Hello! This team blew lead just like they were smoking weed in last season too.
This has more to do with Chinese language than the translation. They just speak in more colorful descriptions of subjects than we do. A lot more imagery and descriptive lingo.
