Yao Ming To sit in the back-to-back with Golden States Warriors on Wednesday

    So Yao Ming will sit out tomorrow's game against Golden State Warriors after playing the Lakers tonight. I guess I won't be going to Oakland to watch the Warriors opener if Yao Ming is not playing.

    Pretty sure there's going to be a lot of disappointed fans tomorrow night if they think Yao will play. The Bay Area has a lot of Asian population and they sure won't be happy. I remember in 2002, it was the first time I went to watch Yao play in Oakland against the Warriors in his rookie season. Oakland Coliseum was full house and packed that night, and majority of the people there were Yao fans! That was also the game when Yao made his first NBA 3 point shot! I can't forget about that great night!

    Can't fault the Rockets for following doctor's orders. You know you could always go and cheer the Rockets on...

    Warriors game will be up & down all game, Yao won't fit in well.

    Nope. I'm not going. It sucks all the local newspaper here in the Bay Area advertised something like this: "Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets coming to Oakland to play the Warriors." Even in the local Chinese newspaper, same thing. Pretty messed up for false advertisement.

    Still don't understand at all why you wouldn't go. Maybe it has to do with living in Montana, but I'd go see us if EVERY starter was out and I had a chance to see the Rockets. I mean, reallly!?!? It's Rockets basketball!

    I know Yao and he told me he was going to play the first two games and the rest of the back to backs he would not until maybe later in the season.

    It's ok man, I don't blame you. Some fans are diehard around here and go to as many games as possible, but the majority of us have really busy lives and to do anything than watch each Rockets game on TV (and sometimes on delay/repeat) is a huge huge time commitment. Unfortunately for you our second game at Oakland is also on the back end of a back to back. Sacramento's the first team, but still anyone pitted against Golden State is likely to win out, style of basketball being the overriding factor more than anything.

    "Orientals" have become a derogatory term.

    And Jeremy Lin will not get much playing time after what I saw from coach Keith Dumb. Last week's preseason game against the Lakers, he played Monta Ellis 53 fricking minutes including OT!!! Stephen Curry was already injured, and he played Ellis 53 minutes?! Come on now! At least give Jeremy Lin a chance on the floor in a meaningless game!

    Anyone who thinks he's playing in back to backs just hasn't been paying attention at all. 24 minutes and no back-to-backs has been all the news is about for the last month.

    This might offend some die-hard Rockets fans, but I'm going to be honest. I'm not a Houston Rockets fan. I'm a Yao Ming fan.

    You don't say, Kevin Martin has demanded a trade to Golden State so he can play more minutes in preseason games.

    Another thing GS can do is to sign Mike Harris and give the Asian their Rice product.
