Mad about his own exceptionally low 3/6 FT% rate, Yao Ming promised that he would shoot at least 100 free throws in team practice. He doubled that in today's team practice in Toyota Centre in preparation for their upcoming game versus Dallas Mavericks.
I like Yao. He's not only a man of his word, he's also trying his best for every little thing he could improve on.
Yao is showing more hard work and effort. That is what this whole team lacks. Hope Yao rubs off on the other 11 guys.
Always going far and beyond what is expected of him. He truly leads by example, great work big fella.
what i am eagar to know is : How many did the rest of the team shoot... yes , tracy and bonzi...to be specific
I expected this kind of dedication from Yao. He is one class act. I wonder if Yao can practice throwing elbows and committing nasty fouls.
And it seemed every other Rockets joined Big Yao in practicing their free throws after a disgraceful performance in the Detroit Pistons game at the charity strip.....
Good work Yao. Keep it up. By the way, Yao got 439,125 amount of vote for 2008 NBA All-Star Balloting First returns announced but he is still leading in votes for the center in the West. I hope ppl vote more so that he can top the overall. He is behind Garnet, Lebron, Dwade, DHoward, Carmelo, Nowitzki, and Kobe. http://www.nba.com//allstar_firstreturns_071213.html
http://sports.sohu.com/20071214/n254082100.shtml According to the above report from Zhang Yi from Sohu Sports, right after the game with Detroit Pistons, Big Yao said he needed to add practicing 100 free throws into his normal routine. Insteads he added 200 free throws. He did not stop his free throw practice until he made 200 of them.
I thought these guys practise free throw every day. I guess I was wrong. From the looks of it, they didn't practise normally but when their FT was bad they start to practise. I hope coach make sure they practise FT and shooting everyday. FT is freebies and cannot be missed. Hayes for sure need such practise everyday.
How about this guy? Got to love Dike and his great sportmanship! I really hope this guy becomes an assistant coach or continues to be an ambassador for the game because he is truly a gentleman, and is one of the genuinely great guys in the NBA!
