Just saw an interview with Yao Ming on CCTV5, he said that currently he is only at 80%, if he does not reach 95% he WILL NOT be playing the world championships. He didn't sound very optimistic that he will get to 95%.

    this is encouraging.

for some reason, i dont think he will stick to these comments though. My bet is he plays. China may force the Rockets , the NBA and the free world,to get Ming to play, in return for getting North Korea to disarm.

On the day of the WC, I want to hear him say, "Oh drat, I'm only at 94%...shucks.... well, good luck guys, I'm gonna go see Tallahassee Nights then go home and nail my girlfriend."

That's disappointing. What happened to him being ahead of schedule?

Yao Ming is so patriotic to his home country and I bet he will play for the Chinese National Team even though he may not be not 95%.

Good news, but you'd be foolish to think he won't play.

How come this is good news? His injury is becoming a bigger concern.

If you think he'll play anyway, then it is bad news. An 80% Yao Ming is more likely to aggravate his injury than a 95% Yao Ming.

I think he is actually telling he will play. Because the chance of improving from 80% to 95% in 40 days is more than 80%
