An exclusive interview of Yao Ming by Wang Meng after the game in Portland where Yao Ming confessed it is too tiring to fight a one-man battle (without Tracy McGrady) to lead the Rockets to win.

Can you tell me where and which part in the interview did he b**** about the quality of his team mates ?

The only place he talked about his team mates is that the height and weight had limited the ability of his back court team mates to penetrate....which is a FACT.

IMHO, he is just feeling the heat that without Tracy, it is too damn tough for him to lead this team to win, and that he needs to work and play even harder to become a better leader.

Luckily he wont complain about JVG before demanding a trade, otherwise you would cry like a girl here.

Much thanks pryuen. Man, I really feel for Yao. The Center position is the backbone of a team. You rely on it in so many ways both offensively and defensively that by it's very nature it's a difficult position to lead from. I can see what Yao's saying when he states that it's simply too much to do (ie cover defensively on the low blocks, establish a dominat offensive presence, attempt to make your teammates around you better and simply being vocal and active as a team leader). And as Yao said, from his position, some of those responsbilities are not easily translateable. Someone else on the team needs to step up and take up support. You can't have all pawns on your team and only two Kings (or one King & Queen if you want to look at it in another way).

No, Yao is not gonna ask for a trade, I think he was just talk about what he wanted to talk, these things are true, all he need is more support from his teammates, with Mac and Snyder coming back, everthing is gonna be ok.

Uhhh, Wang Meng again, the notorious lia. Is this the same guy who wrote about TMAC 2006 summer activity by watching TMac's 2005 training video? Also the same guy told his readers that Yao cancelled the Kimmel's show while Yao was having fun with TMac in the studio ?
I am not saying this Wang is lying once again this time, I am not sure. But I just have zero confidence in his credibility.

stop complaining and play harder and better. I know 27/9.9/2.3 is great but I am sure 30/12/3 could win us a few more games.

LMAO. Stop b****ing and try to read the article, if you believe it's legitimate. Then point out when and where did Yao make any complaint.

This is the real problem. BOTH head and RA tried hard to do drivie-in which is Rockets need most. BUT they are just very bad at this particular thing because of their heights and speed. There is no solution other than personnel changes. If Tmac and Snyder are back healthy, then everything will be fine. Otherwise, big trouble. TRADE SNYDER for JR smith.

did you read or are you just trying to make this article an extension of your other thread?

yao was saying he is trying to learn how to become a better player with respect to making his teammates better. he wants to be great and show that the team can win with him.

What I get out of this is Yao is putting up 27 while still being unselfish like he was early last year. And it is costing him some turnovers. I think he should play more selfishly like the end of the year and force shots up before the double gets there like last year. With McGrady out, he should be getting up 35 shots per game. It will create foul trouble for the opponent and will open up the floor as the double team has to come faster and harder if he goes fast when he gets the ball. That's when the lanes open up to the basket and those wide open 3 ball shots come.

I aslo read the original Chinese report, and felt the title is misleading: it sounds like or implies that Yao is complaining about teammates, but I don't think that's the case.

the reporter asked the question whether he felt tired after a 40-minute game that is without T-mac. The answer is of course Yes, but I don't think that's a so-called confession.

im quite sure that Yao cannot reach that level, 30/12/3. so plz trade him to other teams and acquire your favorite players who can help houston win one more champions. Period

We're all worried...Yao cannot do it alone...We need someone else to step up...He's great, a warrior, but c'mon, we need a solid #2 threat...
