I thought love was only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me.
Love was out to get me
    That's the way it seemed.
    Disappointment haunted all my dreams.

Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind.
    I'm in love, I'm a believer!
    I couldn't leave her if I tried.

I thought love was more or less a given thing,
Seems the more I gave the less I got.
    What's the use in tryin'?
    All you get is pain.
When I needed sunshine I got rain.

Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind.
    I'm in love, I'm a believer!
    I couldn't leave her if I tried.

alot of people are debating this in some of the threads. i'm doing them a favor by having this poll.

can u imagine a gentlemen's club without polls?

I believe the US media..because they speak English and I know what they're saying. Plus you know with all the communist whatever going on in China, I don't really trust what they write..nothing against the people of China, just the Government.

You think the government of China really cares about what these "sports reporter" report about some basketball stars? Who is being brain washed here? ;)

Not all Chinese reports are true and neither are all US reports. You choose to believe what you want to believe is the way how most of us would work.

the funny thing is this the debate going on other threads about the Yao interview stuff. the people hating on this thread are the same people arguing about the same topic. they are just "JEALOUS" that I actually made a thread to let the people speak. the people!

I only trust US interviews because...they are from credible sources that I have known for a long time. ESPN, CNNSI, etc., I trust. Sina, no thanks.

i'll believe it when yao does an interview on camera and the words are spewing out of his mouth.

no need for translations. no need for interpretations :D

If that is the case, just ignore all of the articles translated from other languages, be it from China or Brazil, but do not complain about them in the article thread.

you have to admit some of these articles are suspicious.

Yao talking about the Cuttino/Steve conflicts with JVG?? why would he talk about that publicly? that's internal stuff that no one would talk about.

Never said all these articles are true, just like not all published articles in US media are true. Some of these are from well known large sports publications in China, some are not. You can decide to believe what you want to believe. By the way, Sina is like Yaoo, it is just a portal, they do not have many if any reporters of their own.

Several articles i've read from some Chinese source seem IMHO to be fake.

A multiple-choice poll would have been good.

The Chinese stuff I take with a grain of salt. Some of is obviously false while some looks legit, but I can't be savvy enough about Chinese media to easily know which to trust. So, I usually don't bother with them. Which is too bad. There are things that I think US sources cover up that might come out through some other source (like China). And, it could be that Yao is more willing to discuss some things with Chinese media than American media (because he knows Chinese articles won't greatly affect his image in the States) -- because he is certainly attributed some statements in the Chinese press that he'd never say to a US reporter. But, you can't tell what might be Yao's effort, and what is sina.com's.

Yes, Sina is trying to make the money for all kind of reports. ESPN is different from Sina.com, but Sina.com which reported many stories about Yao has most become true.

By the way, Sina is like Yaoo, it is just a portal, they do not have many if any reporters of their own.[/QUOTE]

lets give an example of the Kobe wanting a trade deal. When all of the "US Media" wrote the article, everyone believed it. Then he posts up stuff on his website, then you hear him talking to stephen a (on audio) saying he wants a trade. then you see the youtube thing etc.

give me a 'fake' us media report on the nba. no political iraq stuff here. just NBA please.

exactly. when american sports news do this, most of the time they will post the "explicit sound bites" directly. kobe flip flopped, which was all on him.

the journalists can be biased, but they twist and turns is all their opinions. they all use the same quotes.

If you were a woman, i'd ask you to marry me. I totally agree, the media is fake as is, at least just report on what I like to hear about, no bad news, no murders, no suicides, just basketball and soccer. Ignorance is bliss, and I like to be happy. :D
