I didn't see this posted anywhere so Yao Ming is going to be interviewed by Mark Berman in Yao's House. It's going to be on Fox 26 News at 9.
I fell for the hype. I couldn't get away from the commercials. Even saw the big ad in the Chronicle today so being a Yao fan I was all pumped up to see it. That was the biggest load of crap I have ever seen. Did we learn anything new about Yao? Not at all. The majority of the story was Yao giving witty barbs to Berman in Chinese. Yao at home? From what they actually showed that story could have been done anywhere. I think the whole thing was done in one room. Props to "scoop" Berman for getting in his house but he dropped the ball after that. Tell us something new if you are going to hype it up like that.
Link? Ha. That's a good one. Try finding a link on their website, if you want to call it that. www.fox26.com (Jeff, can you give these guys a call and offer your services?? )
Yup, that was completley lame. Frankly, I expected much more from "Scoop". After it was over, I thought it was just a warm up for the real interview. Nope, that WAS the real interview. What a disapointment.
I was hoping to see and hear something from Yao's parents. I've heard they are camera shy so maybe that's why they weren't on.
hes got alot of random people livin in his house. i saw 2 fat kids and colin moping around in shorts and a t-shirt. by the way....who were the other players who live in that neighborhood? i remember motay...anyone else?
They didn't show Colin at all. When Colin was translating an answer back to Berman, you couldn't even hear him. Like they didn't have him miked up or something. I didn't even get most of the answers, not that it mattered because the questions were so lame.
Yao and Colin drinking boboa tea or actually Colin drinking boboa tea and Yao drinking a green bean slushy.
Yao said that a duck came by his tree and lived there for a week or something. It was decent English, but who the f*&k cares? We knew he has a damn license and a Toyota Sequioa(spelling?) And who were those fat people in the background, his entourage? And two words to Yao: Interior Decorator!!
I just had a few comments: The "fat people" are some of his friends and I think it's probably rude to refer to them as the "fat kids" and such. You can just say "other people". If you watched the games on TV, you could see them sitting with his parents sometimes. Also, we've seen numerous interviews and articles on Yao. I really didn't expect anything different from this one knowing Yao's personality and penchant for privacy. I think the family prefers to have the house as simple as possible - easier to clean/take care of. They don't seem to like frivolous things.
