I have an Xbox and just got NBA2K3 last week, and it is a very good game. The best basketball game I have ever played, but there is one problem, NO YAO MING! I was wondering if Ming is in NBA Live or NBA Inside Drive? Or if he is just not in any video game some reason.
From what's been posted here, he's not on any game because he didn't sign by a certain date. No big deal, you can just use a create player slot on him and give him god-like stats. It's not like EA or SEGA would've made him that good anyway. Jeez, remember the days of the SNES/Genesis War when you'd come home with NBA Jam or Live and Jordan, Barkley, and Shaq were nowhere to be found? That's like leaving out Duncan, Shaq, Iverson, and Kobe nowadays.
You can create him, like Anti said, or you can get an update from Sega. However, you need that internet thing. I'd tell you how to do it, but I don't have it. I don't even know if I can where I live. Do you have to have broadband to be online with a console, or do you need just the internet? (and the stuff, of course.) Oh yeah, I think the X-Box will come out with a CD as well that will let you update the rosters for 2K3, but that will be awhile, I think. That's about all I know. edit: as far as I know, he was not orginally in any game since he officially signed his contract way late. Though I think every game has updates for rosters. (Live has, don't know about Inside Drive.) BTW, You may be able to go to a game site and they can copy Yao's stats and ratings, and you can copy those. I'll check to see if I can find any.
I dunno sf3, but I bet he's programed into the game, just he can't be reached without dloading an updated roster from their companys website. UNLESS that was only a dreamcast thing
I think PS2's online service covers both broadband & dial up, xbox live only supports broadband, though it may be the other way around, I can't quite recall. get broadband if you can, nobody likes a dial up lagger in video games!
Can't get broadband where I live. Not enough demand, I guess, for broadband. (population is in the hundreds, I think.) Thanks for the answer. I have a PS2 and have been wondering about the online thing. I don't plan on using the online thing much, but I may have to get it some time. edit: I think I heard the same about the PS2, but I wasn't sure.
Yeah, it does. You can't believe how happy I was when we upgraded and I saw 14kbps on downloading. A large improvement over 2kbps. (btw, I'm not lying.) My cheap, poor school gets me mad, too. Its only like 3 miles or so away and it has a T1 connection. They are lucky because they lie at where some special point that a power plant needed to put a tower at. The school allowed them to build it there and they get to directly use the tower for internet. I hate for such cheap computers to have a great connection, and our great computers and home have terrible connection. Oops..went off-topic big time. Well, Yao is not in the games, unless you create him, get a special CD, download the roster update, or copy a friends memory card that has the roster update. There. Not totally off-topic.
My school just has a cable modem I think. My cable modem runs a lot faster then my school's. You are lucky that your school has a T1 connection. I post on the BBS a lot between 1:15-1:57 CT, since that is when I have my web design class, and the teacher doesn't check what we are doing.
The T1 doesn't mean anything when EVERY SINGLE WEB SITE IS BLOCKED! Yeah, we can't go to p*rn sites, KKK sites, or none of those, but we also can't go to ESPN.com, NBA.com, shockwave.com, video game sites, and worst of all...this site. Actually, I'm an idiot. I was allowed to go to ESPN.com, NBA.com, and Clutchcity, but I was feeling stupid and told the teacher. Sure enough, they are now blocked. BTW, even some educational sites are blocked as well.
Damn, lol, that sucks. What do you expect though? You except that to allow people to view p*rn in school, lol? That is crazy. My school doesn't ban sites like CC.net and ESPN and NBA.com. They just block p*rn and offensive sites.
Well RC, that was your first mistake, i get on the bbs at school on our t1s, i even figured out how to check my email
What was that conversation like? "Ah yes. I would like to report that due to a faculty oversight, I am able to access ESPN.com. Please shut that down ASAP. Carry on." What a ... cool guy.
LOL. Azadre: I check my email all the time in school. My school is dumb. Aol.com, mail.yahoo.com, and hotmail.com aren't blocked lol. My school must be r****ded.
I think there are some ways that people have figured out how to override the blocks, but I don't really care much for most of the blocked sites or e-mail. Besides, I think if you do get caught, you get a lot of serious punishment, like some detentions, ISS, and probably being banned from computers. But that's just a guess; it may be less. Its not worth all that to me.
Well... not exactly, but close. Some friends and I were on the internet and I went to one site. I told my friend to go there too, but he couldn't get there. I kind of said aloud, "Hey, how come I can go there and you can't?" We asked the teacher, who happened to be my computer teacher, and she guessed that my clearance was a little higher than it should be.
LOL. Never tell the teachers what you are doing! I hardly ever do any work in computer class, which is great. I would never want that to be taken away from me!
