In the first 2 games so far this season, Yao has stepped up in the 4th. I rarely ever saw this out of him last year. But even tonight, he wasnt playing particularly well throughout the game, but he showed up in crunch time. This is a major step up in his game.
He still had a couple of turnovers in the 4th, but he made it up by a couple of crucial shots. Yao will come around, I just think Boozer and Okur are bad matchup for him.
Yes i agree even though he gave a mediocre sub par performance, we still won the game... That is the only thing that counts....
Everyone has a off-nite. Yao is still a major force on the court. 5 Blocks and tons of alternating shots. Enough said. Maybe its RA's timing of using him gives Yao a breath later in the game
He had an average fourth quarter - sloppy turnovers and didn't put his arm up quick enough on Boozer's jumpshot. He's supposed to be dominant in all four quarters, though, so it's nothing noteworthy. I don't worry about him, though, I think fans have become spoiled with his 20-10 consistency on 50% shooting. Even great ones have bad games, I'm not sure why everyone is bashing him so hard tonight.
T-Mac had his back and stepped up. I expect Yao to do the same when T-Mac is struggling. The bench is gonna produce regardless.
Boozer still score on him like in the playoffs, but Yao never gave in and in the 4th quarter he made couple big blocks and few clutch shots
exactly, We're 2-0 and the Rockets win on the road and that's what counts... He'll come back around to his star status...
I can't remember a single game where Yao played this bad last season...I'm sure there was one, but I can't remember it.
in playing little (well compared to what he should play) he had ALOT of to's in the entire game... BUT since this is about the 4th Q,he had a few but managed to make some important shots. I realised that in the final seconds..the tempo is lower and is more of a halfcourt game, and yao is our go-to guy for that situation* *- IF HE'S FEELING IT.
The best thing about this style for Yao is he no longer gets tired. He said he didn't even feel tired after 40 minutes in the first game. He is no longer wrestling all the time in the post. Staying fresh late in the game means Yao will be able contribute down the wire.
the biggest problem i have with him is not his poor shooting offensively, but his poor defense against everyone because of his slow speed. Man I was yelling at the TV for Adelman to sub out Yao but apparently he doesn't agree. Yao is not only suking wif his shot, but also repeatedly getting burned by deron's pick and roll with boozer or boozer's simply strong drive. Yao suks against the jazz....
We don't have to worry about YAO. He will be ok. Just an off night. Saturday he will be back with his regular numbers
