Please ignore this article if you just dislike anything from sina.com

    http://sports.sina.com.cn/s/2004-04-20/1401222784s.shtml

    Key points:

-- The lack of enthusiasm of rockets fan disappointed both both SF and Yao, compared to lakers fans.

-- Yao has no real friend in Houston.

Lack of enthusiasm? When? Are they talking about the regular season or the playoffs?

Yao can make friends... I'll be his friend! ;)

JUst ignore this kind of thing.

Some Chinese reporters have nothing to get out of yao's mouth, they have to speculate. Typical get one line out of the context to distort it.

The quote is "Houston is not my home, my home is in China".

U ask any expatriates and they would probably give u the same answer. No big deal. His home is not in houston but his job is.

I think that Cat and Francis will give you the same answers (only substitue east coast for china)

besides, isn't this is same service that had Yao with a concussion or something during the summer ?

dragon.. exactly. that is what I'd expect someone to say to their home papers.

most athletes will call their home towns their home.. just like roger calling texas his home etc.. I don't see this being a big deal.

Hakeem never said "Lagos is my home."

The significant difference being Hakeem came to the US by choice to go to college and his family soon followed. Yao made his entire career in another country and didn't come to the US until it was time for him to work in a new setting.

Nevermind the fact that Yao basically had to get permission from his country to leave there and come to the US to work.

    Two totally different situations.

I have seen nothing but trolling from FakeFan. Trolling after Trolling.

That original report is not even worthy commenting because of it's total absurdity. and your way of picking a 'title' makes it even worse.

    YOF please stay in yawmingmania.

Oh please, the title I used is exactly the same title sina used. Right?

You do not have to attack me, did I overstate anything? I listed 2 key points
written in the artile, did I make them up? are those not the truth?

Yao's mom said Yao's life in houston is summed up as "2 locations, 1 routine"(home and work). I felt Yao's pain, and hoped less bashing on him in this board. Is this you called "trolling"????

I dun see any trolling on fakefan at all....

I supposed it is just normal for Yao to feel that he belongs to China... not Houston... I bet that happens to most ppl who went abroad for work or studies.... be it his parents are there, but the culture and language difference will always be there.....

even though Yao can speak fluent English now, I believe he will still be more comfortable speaking his mother tongue to his fellow Chinese frens..... it is just different anyhow......

Anybody out there didnt like Yao's look during the shoot around yesterday. Dude looked like stressed out, not confident or pumped up about the upcoming match. Also quit floating around high post. I do think now it is Yao that doest want to carry the offese load. He needs to toughen up mentally. Also the rest of rox need to move around when Yao gets the ball low block. It's going to make his job much easier.

although he was a naturalized US citizen (and won a gold medal here) he made it clear that he was more an international resident (with family in Canada and in Africa) - so what is wrong with Yao saying China is his home !?!? he still lives there in the off season.. right ?

Both the Rockets and the Fans put too much pressure on Yao. This is only his second season and people are expecting him to just dominate shaq and take us to the finals. Hakeem didnt do it, and hakeem is a legend. Everyone needs to lay off him for a bit and give him some damn space. Or else we are all gonna run him out of this city and too another team.

Um, didn't Hakeem lead us to the finals his second season over Jabar and Magic, not that I don't think Yao has too much pressure on him (more if SF gets traded) but just pointing it out.
