When I tried to enter the site, it said that I need the service pack 2 cd to install the translator. I don't have it, but maybe if you tell me where to click?

    copy mms://61.153.17.62/sport/cba/cba0116.asf
    into Windows meida player.

If you cannot watch the video, please give up.

They need to register with a Chinese ID card number somewhere.

Chinese fans can watch it easily.

ok, i downloaded all the necessary programs and tried using your passwords windandsea. I got to the final part and the screen pops up that says "License Acquisition- 2745345454".

Does that mean the Chinese Government now has my license? Thats not a good thing is it? I mean I dont mind sharing but for them to acquire my license is beyond me.

Anyway, any advice on what we should try next to watch the Yao Ming game footage on Windows Media Player? Thanks for your help redao and offering your username and password windandsea!

    almost done, Ron413

You need to upgrade your windows media player with that license.

    Do this:

    http://www5.cnool.net/sport/record1.asp?currentpage=1

on left side of this page, you should see a Windows media player logo. under the logo, the fourth line is a link, click it.

In the new page, looking for a yellow GO button in the right area. under the button there is a link following that -2147188722. click it, your player will be upgraded.

    Thanks alot redao!
It works now, I appreciate your help once again.

PS: What is the background of this particular game? What year was it and maybe some info on teams, Yao's competition at center, etc.

I had a much better feeling for Yao Ming from this game.

Now I know he can run, he can block, he can push the guy defending him in a bad manner. He loves dunk.
He just needs passion to show them. His defense is ugly.
I hate anyone playing like that. I hope he can change it from the very first NBA game.

Rudy should force him to use his skills. Ming can be an immediate help to Rockets.

Again his pass is amazing. He has a PG's fast brain and a wider view. The fastbreaks started from Yao are deadly. I heard Nachbar was a dunk-mania, he is getting chance here.

Pro-ming people refer Ming had the skills and potential.
Anti-ming people refer Ming's game was soft, passive.

    Both are right.

This CBA season game was between Sharks and Rockets. on Jan 16,2002.

Sharks' home court. Yao Ming is white #15.

    Yao ming stats:

    43 minutes,40 points, 15(including 5 dunks)/16 (93.8% FG%, rediculous :)) FT 10/13 (76.9%) Rebounds 26 ( O: 8, D:18). 2 blocks, 1 asst,2 steal, 7 turnover,3 fouls.

final result 129:102. Sharks won over Rockets who lost two starters before the game.

Thoughts after seeing a whole Ming's game video

    His strong suit:
    (1) He is tall, freaking tall.
    (2) He is tall---> He sees court extremely well. I agree with will's post 100%. Those fast break outlet passes are killer! Well, if he can get the rebound.
    (3) His passing skill. Long passes right on the money.
    (4) His smooth ball handling after catch the ball, can finish strong.
    (5) Hook shot.
    (6) Free throw.

    His weakness:
    (1) His physically strongness. Barkey was partially right.
    (2) Lazy defence at times. Possibally related to his energy level.
    (3) Slow transition from defence to offence/O to D. Not that he cannot run. He can. He lacks energy level to run full court quickly at every postition.
    (4) That laziness sometime carries over to tendency of getting 3 sec call.
    (5) Not many experience with the Bang style offence, dunno how his defence will adjust to that.

    Transition to NBA:
    (1) Steve Francis can make him SO MUCH better, and steve will enjoy his passes too.
    (2) Need to get on a physical condition program real quick.
    (3) Can not play more than 24 minutes per game effectively at this time.
    (4) Play more high post can save him some energe.
    (5) Rookie number about 12 PPG. 4 from FT.

that might not have been the best game to judge Yao on all areas. His team was up by 20-25 points midway through the 3rd quarter and they were pretty much running out the clock.

Granted. But you can still see the tendency in the first two quarters.
