TBS has contacted Chinese TV station. They will set up a broadcasting center at Beijing if Yao Ming cannot go to NY to attend the draft. Then all the fans in the world can see the reaction of Ming on TV at that moment.

But the director of Chinese national team has told Ming to "prepare to go to NY at draft day".

That would be great to see Ming at the NBA draft. I wonder if the NY fans will boo him. Thanks for the information windandsea!

I can't wait to see Yao towering over David Stern, wearing a Rockets cap.

Speaking of the draft, who usually gives the best 'analysis', Hubie Brown, John Thompson, or Rick Majerus?

You mean the Charles Barkley who predicted that the Nets would beat the Lakers in 6, that Van Horn would emerge as a star, or a different Charles Barkley? :D ;) :p

I personally think Hubie Brown is easily the best analyst of the NBA. He may not be as whitty or comical like a Bill Walton but Hubie really KNOWS the game and every time I watch a game he is commentating he really disects each team and each situation giving fans all the alternatives to a certain play. He always seems to know all the players, strengths and weaknesses and I never see him as someone that champions a certain player. He always analyzes it right down the middle. I think he is the best and it is a shame he does not work on the NBA finals. People could learn a lot from Hubie.

I highly doubt that the Chinese Government would not want Ming to be in NY for the draft. This is more than just a player getting drafted, this is a Chinese player being taken #1 and as I see it another huge step in the links between the USA and China. I don't see him passing it up.

If there are not many interviews, news conference, if he can be invited a private visit to Houston after being drafted,he will show up. Chinese government will support him anyway. It's up to Ming.

The flight is too long, 15 hours?
But if RT can continue his basketball talk with Ming, Ming will go for it, Mings nantinal coach will agree too.

Maybe he should attend the draft and stay back to play in the summer league, and join his national team again when they come to US for training in early August, just like Wang Zhizhi...

It's too tiring to fly to the US and back to China just for the draft...

Hubie Brown looks like Death. What is he like 100 years old now? He certainly does know his stuff though.

LOL, funny you should say that. If I am watching a game and he is doing the color and my wife is in the room she will say "hey, it's the 'corpse'"
She calls him the corpse. Cracks me up. But like you said, he knows his stuff!

Does anyone remember that article on the draft on ESPN's page 2 last year. I think it was by Bill Simmons, who does these hilarious logs of TV events like the Spelling Bee and Celebrity Boxing. Oh well, I can't wait until June 26th to see who we and everyone else picks, Chuck's comments, and hopefully another article.
