    I just spoke to Jeff on the phone -- he's there. There are about 25 fans and a lot of media there waiting. The Chronicle guys and a lot of TV people. Rudy T is also there. Just an FYI ...

    My mom called me from the airport minutes ago...He is at terminal "A" right now...

    25 doesn't seem like a lot...but I know some guys from clutchcity.net are there, so they will make as much noise as a couple of hundred fans, I hope!!! :)

    How tall are you? I have the image of Yosemite Sam on Jeff's back, trying to see his mother over the check-in counter...

    The 'gun' thing suddenly makes sense (ie, making up for inadeqs). And the squirrel thing, an egalitarian approach... "picking on someone your own size".

    Yao's dad and Yao arrived - his mom was there also. Big crowd was there - with media and everybody "well over 100 people" - probably 150. Rudy, CD, Goldberg, Postolos, Yao's translator were all there. Jeff said Yao is so huge in person.

    He did a press conference. We'll have some photos up soon (thanks to Jeff and rockHEAD)

    Thanks Achebe, lol...I'm 5'11 3/4'' 212 lbs....

    Just talked to Mom...He came by the Southwest gate side, lots of "dignitary" type looking folk with him...She said she doesn't believe how tall he is!...Unfortunately he is probably leaving as this is written...there is lots of media there...I asked her if she could grab him or get an autograph but she said no way...
