    Yao being voted behind Shaq just shows how senseless this award is.

    It's more like a norm in the media now where Yao must rank behind Shaq. I wouldn't be surprise if they come up with the tallest men in the NBA and Yao's still behind Shaq :mad:

    Yeah.... real sportsmen don't have the Asian American Association protesting at his games. Although in the interests of full disclosure it was only the first game, and he apologized for his statements.

    First of all, how the hell is Shaq even CONSIDERED.

    Secondly, yeah Yao should have a good chance to win, 3rd is pretty acceptable.

    That's what's wrong with these awards. The fact that the wrong people choose the winner make them meaningless.

    For example, in my opinion, the Head Coaches of the NBA, should decide who is the NBA's MVP and MIP. And the Refs of the NBA should decide who is the NBA's best sportsmanship player.

    i was being sarcastic sorry i forgot to put the :rolleyes:

    i remember i was semi-responsible for that controversy starting. kind of a funny story but a bit long to tell for such a silly decision
