Yao is not the problem, SF is not the problem. Forwards are the problem

All the Yao-bashing, SF-bashing stuff are just total nonsense.

Because every opposing team shares the same defensive strategy against this Houston team. "Trap SF and collapse on Yao". And Houston can't find a way to deal with it.

    WHY?

Besides our smallest but quickest all star guard and slowest but tallest all star center, there is not much in between.

The forward problem is the biggest problem this team is facing. Give the management some credit, they did try to fix it. Then spent four first round picks on it recently (3 for EG, 1 for Nachbar). But I also blame the management for getting near nothing for all these picks.

There are so many talks on this board about trading SF and Yao. That is easy Yao and SF can always bring back something. However, nobody talks about trading our forwards, despite their poor production.

    WHY?

Because we all know most of the teams in the league won't even pick up our starter forwards from the waiver (with their salaries).

Sadly, with our roster depth, cap room and draft situation, the remedy is not very close.

If they traded EG last spring..................

Clearly the lack of production (especially offensively) from our starting forwards is a big problem on this team. Jackson gets open 3pt looks and can't knock them down. Cato gets 15ft open looks and cant knock them down. This is killing our offense.

This team needs to move Mobley to get a quality SF or PF that can score points. Move Pike or JJ to 2 guard or move SF to 2 guard and pick up a veteran PG.

I love Mobley's play this year. He has been solid. And he is also our most tradable asset to get a quality forward. This has to be addressd.

Not having Eddie Griffin, Nachbar and even Terence Morris pan out has REALLY set this team back. These draft picks have killed us!

Actually, Francis can probably fetch us a better player, while the Rockets get to dump his max contract and lose less production as his play has been inferior to Mobley's.

Why Yao not Mobley or Cato or MoT? Why not Pike for not attempting 10 3pters every game and makes 7 of them?

You must be strong supporter for "All People Are Created Equal".

If u dont think Yao is the problem, why dont u argue it in the 'yao is the real problem' thread? why make a new thread of the subject? Go argue in there, there are some good discussions in that thread.....

I KNEW it. I KNEW it! You're to blame! I hope you feel sorry for all the misery you've caused. Go make yourself useful and prevent Karl Malone from playing in the Lakers game this Thursday.

Well, because the people who bash Steve are the ones who think Yao is a god, when really he hasn't done much in a year and a half. And because i actually mean what i say when i bash Yao. And because i don't see a reason to bash Mobley when he's been our best player this year. The other guys are just there for the ride.

Yea . . . I stated this in the WORSE STARTING FORWARDS IN THE WEST
    thread

I think that is a major point of this team

If the people yu pass to consistantly cannot make the shot
or are not even a THREAT to make the shot

yOU will look stupid and your assist will suck

How many assist did Stockton get off Malone's Jumper
Replace Malone with Cato . . .and how many assists does Stockton get?
Replace Hornecek with JJ or to an extent Mobley
    Bryon had a 'decent' shot

ROCKETS SIMPLY NEED TO HIT THE OPEN SHOT
