I think with 2 yrs of NBA experience in the belt, Wang's game next season will supass Yao's rookie season. what do u guys think?
I will be dissapointed if Wang is "better" than Yao. Wang is not worth a #1 pick. Wang can't create the mismatch that Ming does.
Bro to be honest with you I honestly believe that Wang is the worst of the, "Great Wall". I don't know how often you've seen him play but he is too soft and perimeter happy although he does have a nice outside shot when open. And Wang's post-up game is nonexistent. Yao has the touch and he has some damn good post-up moves even though they are not physical in nature he has incredible finesse in the post.
The only thing Wang is better than Yao is 3 point shooting, and even that is arguable as Yao hasn't taken a NBA 3 pointer yet. This is like Steve Kerr vs. M. Jordan. Not to say Yao is Jordan, but he's a far more all around and better player than Wang is.
There is no way that Wang is currently better then Yao. When they both played pro ball in China, Ming was considered the CBA's best player. If you guys think that Ming is soft, then wait till you watch Wang play.
You guys don't know ANYTHING about Wang. Wang is a very good post player and can drive, dribble, has a soft touch, and is QUICK. It is just that Don Nelson did not allow Wang to do his post moves just yet. Also, Wang is forced to play in the perimeter because of his experience. So, if I were you all, I'd shut the f*ck up if you don't really know him and haven't really watched him play.
If anyone here has watched Wang play, you notice that he can drive by anyone he is matched up against with his spin move, dribbling. He also has a sweet dribble upfront stepback jumpshot. Can someone please help me here?
I haven't seen him play, so I don't know much. (so don't flame me longrangesniper.) He would have to be pretty good to be better that Min, now. Like I said, I haven't seen him play so I won't make a real opinion. All I can say is that if Wang is better...dang he's good.
Wang: a second rounder. Yao: a #1 overall pick. OK that's potential-wise. But I do think Ming's game can translate better to NBA. Wang may be better when two years ago in CBA. Now, Ming is better.
Yes, I agree that Yao Ming is better than Wang Zhizhi in some aspects of the game. But to say that Wang sucks is WRONG. He is very underrated because of ******* Don Nelson not giving Wang a chance to prove himself to everyone.
Easy on the language.. Ming is better than Wang..period. Wang may be a decent player but he does not compare to Ming
Hey Wang expert, if Wang is so good that he can drive by anyone, he'd be the starter on the Mav and an all star in no time. Don't blame Nellie not giving him a chance, 'cuz if he can drive past everyone then only idiots'll glue him to the bench. Reality check, Wang's stuck behind LaFrentz and Bradley on the bench. LaFrentz is the starter, Bradley 14 mpg and Wang 10 mpg. Now let's do the math. Yao Ming > Shawn Bradley > Wang Zhizhi I've watched Wang play in the CBA and NBA. Wang's defense and rebounding sucks. Those glaring deficiencies are what kept him on the bench. Defensively he's light years away from being an inside presence, which Yao seems to be against the USA dream team 5. Wang's post move in China doesn't translate well into the NBA, his lack of bulk and strength makes him more of being banged than a banger. Yao can shoot as well as, if not better than Wang, has height and weight advantage over Wang, proven post moves against NBA players, dribbles and drives well, passes better than Wang(when did you hear Wang's passing being compared to Sabonis'), defends and shotblocks better than Wang. Seems like you watched too many Wang's games and too little of Yao's. Come on, this Wang over Yao talk is silly.
Who knows. If put Wang on the same court, same game, same coach and same teammates, I bet Wang will do much better than Yao. Bateer is better than Yao Ming in this WC series. Bateer was a mile of behind Wang in any game.
wang has absolutely no defensive precense and less rebounding. that alone makes him inferior in the nba to ming. offensively, ming's height and touch will probably be more valuable even as a rookie. potential wise this isn't even a comparison.
Really? The numbers say differently: Ming is averaging about 20 ppg, 8 rpg and 4 bpg in the WC and shooting about 75%. Bateer is averaging about 16 ppg, 6 rpg and shooting 50% from the field. Bateer had ONE game better then Ming, don't get carried away. Who knows. If put Wang on the same court, same game, same coach and same teammates, I bet Wang will do much better than Yao. Wang was on a much better Mavericks team and sucked, why would he suddenly dominate on a crappy team like the Chinese team?
yao > Bateer > wang yao can run both defensive and offensive ends.. wang only can run offensive end Yao better
Yep. Ming is averaging is averaging about 3 to 4 blocks per game, Bateer has one block the ENTIRE TOURNAMENT! If Zhi-Zhi was the defensive player Ming was the Mavs would have JUMPED at using him. Even Bradley is a defensive presence. Wang wasn't.
I watched several Wang's NBA game. I totally agree that he can score. But, I would not blame Don Nelson for giving him only a few minutes: Reasons: 1) Wang has only 1+ years of NBA experience 2) Dallas is full of offensive talent already 3) Wang is obvious a defensive libability and foul prone I would not be surprised if Ming gets limited minutes at the first half sess.
