Brad Miller is currently do ing great for the Kings. He is currently scores 16 points (51.7% shooting) and 10.2 rebounds. He also has 5.3 assists. If the NBA coaches are allowed to select one center, then it is not a no-brainer to select Yao over Miller.
So they will pick him as a forward then. It doesn't really matter. Yao will get voted in again. Shaq will get picked because Phil Jackson will be the coach, and because it would be stupid for him not to. Miller will make it as a forward or as a center or not at all. It doesn't really matter.
I don't see them choosing Brad Miller over Yao. His numbers might be close but Yao has a much bigger overall impact.
Brad Miller is listed as a Center for all star voting purposes. http://www.nba.com/allstar2004/asb/eng/ballot.html The numbers he is putting up certainly merits all star consideration even if it's at Yao Ming's. I'm not saying that I think Brad is better but his very good play certainly merits consideration.
Isn't voting still done over the Internet and all over the world?? If it is, you can't be serious that you would think that Brad Miller would get in over Yao. Now if the coaches and players picked, then I might agree with you.
Doesn't matter. Yao will get voted in. Shaq will get selected. Miller will fight it out with the rest of the F's for a spot.

Brad Miller is listed as a center on [a href="http://www.nba.com/allstar2004/asb/eng/ballot.html"]the NBA All-Star game voting ballot[/a], and that is what counts. But, I think Yao will be voted on the team one way or the other because: - He really is the second best center behind Shaq, so he deserves to be. - Their numbers may be similar, but their impact is not. Yao faces double-teams and zones designed specifically to stop him every night, just as Shaq does. Miller does not. Yao alters many shots that aren't blocked. The other players are able to do more because Yao is playing center, when a man is left open. - Last year, the balloting wasn't really determined by overseas voters, since the balloting came out about the same at the games. But, this year, over half of the internet traffic on NBA.com is foreign, with the largest group coming from China. This year, that will be an advantage to Yao. - This is not a contest based on who is truly the best, but is fan ballotting. Its who do the fans want to see most. If its a choice between Brad Miller and Yao, the fans will want to see Yao in the all-star game, so he'll get the votes. I'm not saying it's fair, its just the way it is in fan ballotting.

The ballot doesn't really make any difference except for the starters. Last year Miller was listed as a center and he made it along with Zydruanas Ilgauskas on the East with Ben Wallace as the starter. So they'll take three centers then if they have to. Yao and Shaq will be there, no matter what.
He will start at center when Webber returns, but he can still be picked or voted to the all star team at either position. I think there is a good chance Yao will be voted on and Miller picked by the coaches as a reserve.

Why is A Walker still on ballot as a Celtic and A Mourning still on ballot? And where's Cato dammit???
