Hope he's gonna be ok he needed the rest badly although it's bad for the fans...but it's safe to sit out on the Lakers game so his injury will not get worse
he sprained his left knee it sounds like the same injury as Vince Carter hope it won't affect his career lucky the team doctor said he doesn't need to be X-rayed
How do you get a strain from a bump? Doesn't sound nearly as serious as Carter. Besides, Carter is a leaper. That is not Ming's game. If he is not in the hospital, no MRI, no X-Rays, no problem.
Thanks for the info! Not being able to watch the game or live in Houston I was really wondering to what extent the injury was. Hopefully it is what is reported, not too serious! Chris
hoping it would be a 2 week injury. give yao time to rest his lower body and lift weights upperbody. then all-star break he could miss and be physically rested and ready for the nba for the first time this season after break and dominate
Not to stir up any controversy or anything but maybe the injury is because of the weight Yao's put on so quickly? Maybe the trainers are to blame?
Picture of Yao after the injury. Not looking good... http://china.nba.com/81/89/news205678981.shtml <img src="http://photo.sohu.com/85/89/Img205678985.jpg">
You can't say that from the picture. What they do is, they put an ice pack and start driving antiinflamatories with the ionophoresis (the machine that you see). The goal is to keep down inflamation. Nothing can be said about structural damage without X-ray or NMR.
Yao's big toe is huge. Back to the topic, the injury is not a big deal at all. He was taken out for precautionary reasons.
