Many people will flame me and of course call me a resident hater. I don't care and I know its a bad time, but when the season is over Yao will have missed more games than tracy since tracy has been here.

Whether they're fluke or whatever, the truth is the truth. There is a history of guys of his size having lower leg problems. What compounds Yao's problems is the other games he play for his country. I know he has taken a break as of late, but the miles add up. We have seen Big Z, Walton, Bowie and even Ralph Sampson have lower leg problems. Chris Marcus was a guy coming out of college that had a future but had lower leg problems. Also Smits early on.

I feel bad for him because he is a good player and person, but it is what it is. The rox in the past have shown they can win games without Yao. Last yr they went 22-12 when he missed 5hose games. Nw they have to sign Magloire or Marc Jackson and everyone has to step up.

I feel so bad for laughing at that. :(

As for Yao being so fragile, sadly it is true. Both of our stars are freakin injury pron like no other.

Yao will have missed 86 games over the last three seasons. He's huge, and he plays big minutes (playing over 33 mpg when you're that size qualifies as "big minutes"). The Rockets have to be concerned about Yao and his various foot/leg injuries going forward. This can no longer be considered a fluke.

I agree this is starting to become a trend. Building around a player who is out for 20 game every year can be a bit risky even if they are as good as Yao.

Well I think this last injury will substantially hurt the rest of his career,

in his subconcious he will always be thinking about injuring his fragile body and feet. Knowing his hesitant nature I see this guy being even more passive and tentative so I doubt he will play with any type of aggression that will propel him to be a dominant force for the rest of his career.

Basically the Shaq style has gone with the backwater. I do not see his body ever enduring that style of play again.

If he is smart he will play a game like Duncan using his body much more efficiently.

Duncan has been plagued by injuries as well but his game now puts less stress on his body than before. He is using his experience and BB intuition in making an impact on the game.

It be smart for Ming to rely on more efficent post moves like Duncan developing bank shots and using more of his hook shots than pounding the paint.

    Career changer for Yao.

Not that it matters but the talks of Dwight Howard vs Yao will start to go more the other way now....

    YAO IS NOT SOFT

    YAO IS NOT SOFT

Some people were calling Yao soft during the Bulls game. As it turns out, the guy was running up and down the court for 35 minutes with a broken foot. I figured it was the back-to-back (Heat/NO) that took its toll on Yao and decided to give him a pass. One thing I figured out with Yao - the guy is not SOFT. If Yao is playing weak on a given night, its probably due to some physical limitation. Let's remember that next before we tag him as soft.
