Reporter: Well, there was live TV broadcasting of this game in China; I anticipate there will be lots of fans blaming and bashing Aaron. And (right after the game) Aaron was also self-blaming himself (for his rash foolishness); but I thought you did not blame Aaron right after the game.

Yao Ming: Well, the game was over. What’s the use for blaming him? We should not blame Aaron; instead, I think we should encourage him. If he plays without confidence, then how are we going to do in offense? Yao Ming: No, it won’t. We are not too bad as a cohesive unit. Regardless whether we win or lose, or whether we play good or bad, every of us played to our best capabilities and gave our all. Of course, to a successful team, this is just the very first step; but this is already a very precious and important step that we’ve made, and it took us very long time to achieve this. Now every of us on the team is working diligently and undertaking responsibility. I’m also trying very hard to undertake more responsibilities. I have already become a chatterbox. I never used to talk that much in the Rockets. There are so many things in the past that I have not spoken about and I must speak it out now. I must inspire and motivate everyone on the team to move forward together. And that kind of feeling makes me feel like I’m back with the China national team.

Yao telling it like what it is. I don't know why he has never asked for a long PG, or take more initiative in how the team plays. He won't be a superstar if he doesn't see himself as one.

Here is one advice for Yao:

Don't be overconfident of yourself & don't underestimate your opponent.

It sounds a little harsh but I think it would help the Rockets if Yao can change his attitude to the game.

Actually that is what happened if you look back this season so far, that is why we lost to so many non-playoff teams down the stretch.
