http://titan.sports.tom.com/2007-04-30/0D1R/83082829.html Yao told this reporter that he was very disappointed in himself, very disappointed in his toughness in Game 4. When asked to be specific, he said he asked to get out of the game for a break during the 3rd quarter because he was too tired. But during that stretch the Jazz pulled away and got the game out of reach. He said he should've stayed in. He said the altitude and the Jazz's faster pace in Game 4 might have something to do him being winded, but it is also mental.
Why is Yao mad at himself? I think he played fine. He was just hammered over and over. Yao is the only person im not mad at right now.
Not a time to get disapointed. Stay confident Yao. We need you to play with more confidence. Series is still tied up. Nothing to be disapointed about yet.
He ain't the only one. But he shouldn't put all the blame on himself, its the whole team. Yao should not be getting pushed around by anyone in the state of Utah. T-Mac needs to step his s*** up too. With that "It's all on me" talk, one would think that he would stop letting the Jazz off the hook with those 20ft jumpers. Yao needs a mean streak. The guy is too nice. Someone give him a subliminal version of DMX first 2 CD's.
I wish someone could help Yao truely understand American culture, understand what it means to be a NBA basketball superstar. Sometimes, he played not hard enough, not tough enough to win. It's all about his education background. Chinese seem not very pugnacious.
then you could expect Yao to dominate both at offensive end and defensive end in game 5. You see, AK47 played better after he cried.
You could tell Yao was pissed off during game 4 when he had that look on his face, but he still aint strong enough to do what everyone wants him to do..throw it down on people like shaq
I agree...you can't really blame yao he is trying hard....I'm not aisan either i'm a black dude and atleast he is trying.T mac on the other time I don't think he is busting his ass like he need too out there.
I can see why he said that. He missed 2 lay ups that were right in front of the basket... he could've dunk those easily if he had the mental toughness to fight his fatigue and go up strong.
I think it his attitude, Mario and Bullard both said the altitude has no effect in Utah. This is Salt Lake City not Denver.
The difference in Yao and Tmac. If the team loses: Yao " I am dissapointed in myself " Tmac "We have to play better, I need to inspire my teamates" If the team wins: Yao " We played well as a team " Tmac " I imposed my will on the game" That says it all right there. DD
