Baby steps, I'm hoping they might extend his minutes before then.

The season just started and the team had lost starting PG, backup PG, starting SG, with half a starting center and a 1:5 record....

what a terrible situation Adelman is in.

Good news if it happens, but bad news on the 24 minute limit.

Why 24 though? Why not 32? That is only 2 minutes more per quarter.....what about 28mpg, that is 7 per quarter..and more reasonable...with more flexibility.

    Why 24?

I think back to back is ok, 24 minutes should still be in effect.

Gotta love the man's attitude. I see plenty of trade for a superstar threads but I believe Yao will come thru for us if we give him a chance to recover and be the centerpiece of our team. Sure he's been injured plenty of times in the past but it was always McGradys team. The year #1 was out and our big fella made it thru a regualr season, he took us the second round. Yao seems hungry to make an impact for our team and thats a good sign. The orginaztion just has to be smart about handling this whole process.

I love Yao, but you can not build around a part time player, he has to play more than 24 mpg.

He is getting re-evaluated in December and then will be told if he can play more minutes.

It could be the result of some scientific research about realtionship between minutes and stress on the foot. Risk of breaking the bone again could double from 24 to 32, maybe. We don't know that.

I realize that unfortunately. The guy has been such a consummate professional for ths orginization and us as people can't help it but to hope for him to succeed. Hopefully hope WON'T catch a break, and I mean that literally.

not really...it's much easier on him to play 24 mins back to back because there's rest in between...rather than first trying to play almost 40 mins at once

shows that Yao is thinking and working every day to get to the point where he can log more minutes and carry more of the load.

however many threads and posts there are about Yao's minutes on here every day, I guarantee there's no fan and no one on this BBS who thinks about it more than Yao does
