http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-rockets-yaoinjured&prov=ap&type=lgns HOUSTON (AP) -- Yao Ming plans to meet with doctors next week for an update on how his injured right knee is healing. Yao told KRIV-TV in Houston on Friday that he hopes for a better prognosis than the one doctors initially provided -- that he would be out of action until early February. ADVERTISEMENT Yao fractured his right tibial plateau under his knee Dec. 23 when he jumped to block a shot and his knee got caught under Tim Thomas' body. Yao immediately grabbed his knee and screamed in pain. Yao was averaging 26 points and nine rebounds before the injury. "It's really hard," Yao said. "This is the best year I have ever had for my team and for me personally."
Can you post this to the following thread ? http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=122294&page=1 The thread I created is not just for me to post translated articles about Yao Ming's rehabilitation......Anyone can post there any update re Yao Ming's injury, and not necessarily creating randomly new threads about his injury or rehabilitation.
my fault...I focused on looking for the article on the forum and did not see it. If someone wants to merge it onto your thread then that will work.
The better prognosis could be that the doctors who examined Yao were Mavs fans and lied to Yao about the fractured knee to keep him out. But Yao is perfectly okay and is expected to be in the starting lineup next game.
Its a bone bruise, Yao is just taking it easy. JVG is genius, he's really getting the team to gell. This fake injury was an excellent plan.
Didn't someone say that the break did not show up on the X-Ray but it looked like there might be one on the MRI? ????? DD
Video of Berman interview with Yao. http://www.myfoxhouston.com/myfox/p...d=BB5E22EDB83BCDF1125BF0925D8ECC8C?pageId=6.1
love his interview.... especially the boring comment the guy is going to be awesome at his playstation, although not sure about the ice cream
HAHAHA, the injury gives yao more time for video games and eat ice cream. I cracked up when berman said that.
An MRI shows soft tissue better than an X-Ray. In a knee X-ray, all you will see is hard contrast picture of the bones in the area of the knee. With an MRI, you can see small structures, cartilage, ligaments, and whatnot. Thus, a smaller fracture would be more easily visualized. From my understandings, they didn't find the fracture until the MRI.
o well usually yao watch crapload of game films when he is out... so the longer it is, the better he will return
