http://www.nba.com/pow_060227.html Um, my first time creating a thread. If tis unnecessary (or redundant) feel free to lock/delete. Tis been a while since Yao had one of these. Hopefully many more to follow.
I believe it was sometime back in his second year. Edit: http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/Yao_Earns_Player_Of_Week_Honor-102271-34.html
Sweet, Yao has been playing extremely well as of late, hope he keeps it up through the end of the season

Yes! Congratulations!!! Hope that he plays like this the rest of the season and become Dirk's Daddy in the playoffs!
Someone finally decided to give Yao some love, simple as that. Shawn Marion could easily have been POTW, but everyone hates on Yao. Someone finally looked at Yao for the player he is, not the player he isn't.
And yet the man can barely get a highlight on sportscenter. Has anyone else noticed that they hardly show any of his moves?
Agreed. He's playing outstanding ... especially when he's grabbing boards. When Yao is doing the intangibles -- blocking/altering shots and hitting the glass hard -- he's an elite player. If Yao got his stamina to the point where he could play back-to-back 40 minute games, look out. However, tonight is Phoenix... the opponent he recently finished with 0 points and 0 boards against by halftime. He needs to blow that one out of the memory banks with a strong performance tonight.
Just one small thing for a guy who has ALOT of big things to come... Yao is coming into his own & its really fun to watch!
