With all the talk about how we should change styles, and how we should be more like San Antonio. Couldnt of Yao Francis Mobley become the next duncan parker and ginobili? The fact is that they only played 2 seasons together. Makes me wonder. I see a lot of similarities in Ginobili and Mobley's game. Francis game was better than Parker's game today. and Yao is now better than 3-4 years ago. We had talent. but we threw it away on slow ass players....

I remember when we were stacked at the PF position...man could we use one now.

Sure. And T-Mac, Battier, and Hayes can become the next Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman. All we have to do is sit back and wait for those three championship rings to fall into our lap.

lol Francis was better than Parker is today, you lost me there.

Your right if you are saying that team could of grown and gotten better but your way off if you think that core wins a title.

STEVE FRANCIS IS NOT A WINNER.

    Tony Parker>Steve Francis
    Manu>Mobley
    Duncon>Yao

Now Yao+Mac+Battier+a few more pieces can be>Spurs one day

Spurs really should have one more title and heck if they are healthy last season than maybe they are going for 6.

Hate that team but facts are facts

They have a deeper team, but Im sorry to wreck your ship, but this season, the 4 games we played head to head, we outplayed them in 3 of the 4, including two wins in SA and one total breakdown in Houston. head to head this year, we were the better team. All I have to say is, SA better be happy they are playing Utah and not us right now. 4-1 series win over SA.

I'm not going to argue between steve and parker, but just on the parker hype specifically. duncan won a championship with an old avery johnson playing point guard. he won one with parker before his prime and with parker in his prime. you saw the same overhype with bibby. parker is a nice a player who has definitely improved greatly. but I just have a hard time saying he is a great player.

Stacked at the PF position? With guys like Kenny Thomas, Mo Taylor and Eddie Griffin? We could sign most of those guys off the waiver wire for the league minimum.

You don't have to be a great player to be a winner. Parker has a pretty good bball IQ, is a very nice setup man, an adequate defender and shoots a high FG%, even though his outside shot is still below average. If it wasn't for him and Ginobili, the Spurs offense wouldn't have much flow at all.

That's pretty obvious but I would disagree with this.

Battier is a better defender but Mobley is no slouch on D and is better on O than Battier. I like Battier but if I had to choose between the two I would take Mobley.

Parker is a great compliment to Duncan. They way he has improved every year shows me something. Considering he just turned 25, there is no telling how good he will be. Using the word "great" to describe TP as a player right now is stretch, but he isn't very far away.

He's not a very good defender but I agree he does what he needs to win. he knocks down open shots and he makes good decisions.

Not even close. Wow, what an amazing thread title. Yep, it's the dreaded off season, a time when the Rockets traditionally screw up the draft, make mind-numbing trades, and acquire clueless or talentless free agents. (Stromile, the missing piece! More like the missing link!) I can hardly wait.

Uhm.....I hate to be the one to break it to you bro but...

    Duncan / Ginobili / Parker = (2) Championships
Yao / Francis / Mobley = (ZERO) Championships

And just for the record, the only thing that was stacked at the PF position back then was the bags of weed being smoked by our players.

I agree 100%. If the clippers were willing to take Battier for Mobley, I would do it in the heart beat. Battier and McGrady play the same position. Mobley is a legit 2 guard.
