With Dirk, Houston can return to a running team. SF, Cat and Dirk together means a lot of firepower.

For Dallas, they are overloaded on PF position anyway. A nash-Finley-Jamison-Walker-Yao lineup will make them real contenders.

Stupid idea. Dirk has better around him and they still aren't even contenders.

Even assuming that trade isn't absolutely stupid for the Rockets, why waste time on something that would never happen any ways?

    Win win.

Playing with Yao is killing Stevie now. Look at his stat this year. This slow post game has robbed his ISO weapon. Without abusing the opposing guards on the offense end, SF ends up being the abused at the defensive end. The opposing PGs now post up good stats over him regularly.

As a man, I understand SF's frustration and be sympathetic to his hate of JVG's game plan.

EG had mentioned that this Houston team has a clique. From what happened recently, people can see SF, Cat and MoT are a tight group. They bond together and defend each other.

They are all young and talented players, and have been rewarded with big contracts. Moving them is too hard and too hurt.

On the other hand, Yao is an odd man in this team. He is so hyped that he holds great trade value now.

Why not cash in Yao's hype to get somebody who fit into this Houston team's style?

Show some love! For crying out love, Yao as a 2nd year player will relly change the course of the game and you boys just could'nt see it. Dirk is not a great defender on the paint and his been around with the Mavs to long and still, the team has'nt made to the finals.

I believed in Yao and I think next season we will be even tougher team as a whole. Straight up!!

Man, you couldn't be more wrong. Playing with Yao doesn't kill Steve's game. Playing under JVG's system's killing Steve's game. But it's not bad. He needs to learn to be a point guard....but then again, I don't know why I even bother arguing because obviously you don't get it

As much as you think Dirk would fit on this team, Dirk would hate to be on this team since it has no good passer to give him the ball where he wants it. Watch Dirk play with the Mavericks. It's usually Nash who dishes to him on the perimeter. Don't be kidding yourself in thinking Steve Francis can do that with the same ease.

I think the Spurs would want Yao though. The Rockets can cherry-pick anyone on the Spurs not named Duncan for Yao.

what is the deal with everyone making such a big deal about jvg's system...

what system? is playing hard nosed defense a concept too hard to grasp?

is not dribbling five times between your legs before looking up to take your shot unreasonable?

    jvg misunderstanders please...eat arse

    Holy crap.

That'd be the end of SF as we know it.

Yao's a good scorer... but Dirk is perhaps the best purer scorer in basketball. And he wants the ball - every damned time down the court. I can't even imagine what'd be like with him and Francis on the same team.

No, same problem - Steve would still be the 2nd place offensive player when he wants to be the first... except it wouldn't even be close anymore.

Outside of TD, there is no one on the Spurs I would trade Yao for.

Mark Cuban will trade Dirk for Yao in a heart beat. The man annoys me but Yao would be the missing puzzle for Marv's championship run.

    Never going to happen though.

do you honestly think Steve would have problem deferring to superstars like Dirk, TD, KG, etc.? Steve is no Starbury. He knows Dirk is a better offensive player and would accept to be the 2nd option. Yao's a different story. what has he done to convince Steve he's a better scorer? Steve still thinks he's better thus wouldn't give up his "the man" status.

I would do this trade although realistically it has no chance of happening.
