One thing that has been consistent in the past 5 years or so, and that's Yao Ming. Oh, and also getting past the first round. But that aside, which lineup is the best?
i really enjoyed watchin all these teams each year, i ended up voting for rafer/mcgrady/battier/hayes/yao, i just felt these particular five complimented each other very well, but things have definately changed over the course of the "yao era". p.s. - i do miss the days when sura was runnin the point...
I had to pick the Sura/J.Howard/Wesley/McGrady/Yao team the first year T-Mac was here, he was just spectacular. If Juwan was healthy that year for the playoffs we would have past the first rd at the least.
take hayes out and put in scola as scola started more games last yr didn't he? the most fun team - 04-05 team (sura was a beast) the best team - last yr's team (accomplished so much in the reg. season but injuries derailed their greatness) this year team can do things also but we'll see. hopefully they will.
The Sura team is my favorite since the championship teams. I like the current team when Ron doesn't go Globetrotter and Wafer is hitting. The Sura team had swagger.
damn, i thought this was a tinman poll at 1st.. thought it was goign to be a trick question again.. Honestly, who cares what was the best team.. It's all worthless unless they do something which none of them have.
Sura team was definitely fun But I want to see how this season finishes....if we really finish 3rd....
Sura and Francis were pretty darn entertaining. Every year after had a lot so much hype, but didn't come even close to the entertainment that Sura and Francis brought.
None of those. I'll take the lineup that began the 22 game winning streak. Yao, Scola, Battier, McGrady, Alston
Easily the lineup with Hayes starting, had Yao remained healthy all year that team would have been nasty. Sorry but Wesley and Sura could not play PG against a legit threat, and also... Weatherspoon was the starter in the playoffs.
I'd add this year's team... battier/artest/wafer/brooks/scola/hayes the last JVG team had no bench whatsoever beyond two above average defenders Hayes and Mutombo. Which, meant the team had no kind of 2nd line of offense or offensive threats outside of Yao and T-Mac. the first Yao/T-Mac year would've been my choice only, if the Rockets had managed to keep Jim Jackson who was perfect for our team and would've given us a better chance of getting to 2nd round that year. Jackson/Sura/T-Mac/Howard/Yao (pretty good line) Instead, we ended up with David Wesley who was a decent player, but he wasn't going to push the team over threshold. The Cat/Franchise teams were just too young inexperience to do any kind of serious damage.
If let choose it free, i'think, it's Battier/Artest/Scola/Francis/Yao, or use T-Mac instead of Artest .
And Sura is the best guard in the past years, especially working both on passing ball to Yao and attacking the opps' basket. It's so unlucky for Sura's exprience.
When McGrady first came in town, his quickness and agility gave him more comforts on the offensive end and it paid off. Then his back spasm ruined his subsequent seasons. I would say that the team with Sura,Wesley,J-Ho being role players had the best chance to advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs, unfortunately, refs devastated our dream.
I would say Rafer, Tmac, Battier, Scola, Yao. I guess they didnt play much time together. I hate what if's.
I voted this season's team but as someone said, last year's squad had some moves. Although the potential we started with this season was clearly championship material.
