Didn't go through the game thread to see if this was in there..

But what I'm wondering about...the Yao elbow to the side of Marion's head.. AFTer the foul. Anyone else reminded of Kobe's elbows that got him suspended? i.e. after the Ginobili foul, elbow to the mouth? Yao's arm went in a weird direction and got Marion.

I don't think Kobe should've been suspended, and I don't think Yao should be. But to me, they're the same play. If the league wants to be consistent, they might have to suspend Yao for a play.

Then again, I think the league was just being biased against Kobe (and I don't really like the guy that much either)...so maybe they don't want to be consistent. Just thought it was interesting to see it last night.

It was clearly unintentional. Not like Kobe where he got blocked and flails his arms all over the place like he got shot in the chest. Definitely not the same play as Kobe has done that elbow thing on more than one occasion.

    Very unlike Kobe. No comparison.

I believe your point is a reach, tho I hear where you're coming from. It was a rebound scrum in which Marion got bopped. I thought you were going to laud Yao for getting tough in that scenario - guys take shots at him all the blasted time because they don't fear any physicality of response. And the refs allow that crap.

(It's not just Yao, refs call games with true bigs inconsistently and poorly. Like this is news.)

The hit was completely part of Yao's natural motion. IMHO there is no possibility of anyone questioning it.

Actually, with the Marion's foul, the ball went to that side, it is a player's first reaction to chase the ball. Unfortunately, Marion's head was there.

BTW, Nash should be suspended for kicking Yao intentionally.

Yao didnt elbow Marion. It's so obvious Marion tried to foul Yao with his head bump to Yao's forearm. :D

So different from Kobe's elbow. Loved the reaction from Bill Worrell after seeing the replay.. "that'll teach him to go in there again" :D

No, it was not a rebound. Marion was defending Yao and got hit.

I don't wish any harm on Marion or any other player. But my reactions are different during the game. I believe my exact words were, "**** yeah, hope you lose an eye!"

Yao needs to start throwing more elbows like that. That should keep them thinking about coming with a double team again.

When Yao came down it was natural. When kobe got suspended, his arms wildly swung out to the side, and it didnt like natural

Exactly what I was thinking. Mutumbo needs to give him a few pointers.

IIRC Yao had the ball in a crowd. Rebound or not, it leaves my Post intact.
