I just got done watching Around the Horn on ESPN, and they were discussing if Yao had turned the corner. Kevin Blackistone - Basically said Yao's recent numbers arent great, and that he played inferior teams. Jay Marrioti - Basically said Yao is just an above avg. center in the nba. Wood Paige - Said Yao is turning the corner. Bill Plaschke - Same as Paige.
These guys are morons. If Yao was considered a PF, he would have run into some of the top PFs in the league during this run (Dwight Howard, Elton Brand and KG). The problem with this inferior Center logic, is that NONE of these PFs can stop Yao either. That's why those coaches don't even attempt to guard Yao with their star PFs. He'd get them into foul trouble right away. I repeat, these guys are MORONs.
They are not morons, they are entertainers. They think talking Yao down is entertaining, so that's what they.
Yao has improved but got to agree recent wins this and last month have been mostly against cellar dwellers or slumping teams. From this Sunday on until the end of the month, Rocks will face Spurs twice, Dallas twice, a resurgent Clippers (Radman hitting, Maggette and Ross are back), and the Hornets (0-3 so far).
blackistone is from dallass right? dude is just hating. he knows that next year and for the near future houston will most likely be better then the mavs and will be getting more attention because of the immense popularity of yao and tmac.
I'd like to give some credit to ESPN's HR department. How can you find so many morons and persuade them to work for you?
Conicidence that 1/2 say Yao has turned the corner and 1/2 say he hasn't? ESPN is in the world if entertainment, not news. People don't want to watch shows where everyone agrees, it doesn't make for good entertainment.
that may be but its not like the stellar teams really have centers that can stop yao either. aside from ben wallace and shaq...who is even an above average center anymore? (i know statistically some will inherently be above average but really)
maybe they will revist the topic if yao gets about 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 blocks tonight and leads a comback for the 2nd half.
Blackistone is right in saying Yao got those numbers against inferior teams. He didn't do anything against the Suns so let's wait till after the San Antonio game before we go crazy
