Yao's interview http://2004.sina.com.cn/cn/bk/p/2004-07-26/41445.html (In Chinese) A Short Summary: 1) Yao listed the starter in his first NBA game: SF3, Cat5, Rice, Eddie and Cato. Then sighed they were all gone. 2) What's the meaning of SF3's trade? Yao said just like the national team, he first hid behind those senior members, then most of them left and he had to pick up the slack. 3) Having endorsement means he couldn't use mechandise of competing brands. Francis' interview http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2004-07-26/09241024155.shtml (in Chinese) Some interesting points: 1) suggestion for Chinese national team point guard: be patient and give the ball to Yao, then everything will be ok. 2) He doesn't hate JVG. Understand it's business and JVG just did what's best for his team. 3) mixed feeling about the trade. good relationship with Yao and other Rox teammates.
The Reporter also ask "would SF3 dunk over Yao when they vs. next season?, SF3 laugh only without an answer"
Francis is already putting in word to his solid fan base in China ahead of next year's all star game I assume you already know but I just want to point out that it is not pimple but a microphone (just in case you did not know already).
Well, if you follow Chinese websites close enough, you'll know Yang Yi won't make a living if he can only have 3 exclusive interviews with Yao Ming so far. LOL !!! Yang Yi is a rather famous sports writer/reporter in China. He used to contribute articles to the various Chinese media/websites about Yao Ming based on person-to-person interviews or through long distance telephone interviews. He even authored a bibliography about Yao Ming recently. Yang Yi had been following Yao Ming's game since he was with the Shanghai Sharks. He used to travel to cover Yao Ming's game in the Asian Games, Asian Championship, Olympic, World Championship and NBA All Stars. Off court, he is one of Yao Ming close buddies.
many posters here discount any report coming from Yang Yi. anyone care to speculate why? he sounds reputable to me.. btw, no disrespect but i think you meant biography instead of bibliography!
OOPPSS...I think you're right. It should be biography. Well, IMO, sometimes his writings seemed too authoritative and subjective but exposing his lack of knowledge of basketball or detail due diligence chek. But overall, I found his reports on Yao Ming pretty up-to-date given his good personal relationship with Yao Ming.
I like the sound of this! Of course by nature Tmac will probably take the lead role on this team because of his talents but since he will be new I am sure he will differ to JJ and Yao initially. I hope Yao DOES take a more leadership role. He needs to. I think by the nature of him taking a more leadership role, it will FORCE him to do more things for the team on the court. It will FORCE him to take more SHOTS each game and by doing this I think he will become a better player.
Dude, you already got clowned once for taking Mark Jackson's comments from a celebrity game out of context. Don't set yourself up for embarrassment again.
I'm sure thats exactly what happened, damn that Yao Ming and his evil mind. That Yao Ming is nothing but a trouble maker.
