This is not a complement for Francis, nor a criticism for Yao...read on....

Yao Ming has all the fundamentals (base) one could want from a rookie,
but lacks the strength and speed (athletic ability).

Steve Francis had all the strength and speed (athletic ability) one could want as a rookie,
but lacks the fundamentals (base).

One of these days they might meet in the middle.
