The CBA (China BBall Assoc.) does their measuring barefooted. The NBA does theirs with shoes on. Barefooted, Yao is 7'5", but NBA style, he's 7'6".
I thing you all need to recheck your numbers! Go back and check when Yao Ming came over to exhibit his talents for Coaches etc.before the Draft.If you saw the Dallas game you know that he is as tall as Bradley, he is 7'6''.

Thats because with his shoes he measured over 7'6''. You can check on it I am sure. Regarding the Dallas picture if you examine it you might notice the different poses of the players. Bradley holds his arms higher and pushes his shoulders up, also he raises the front of his head to make it look like an advantage. Yao Ming just stands there.
You know, if you turn your head diagonally to the left, Yao look bigger. I foyu turn your head to the right, Shawn look sbigger. I say, bad camera angle.
Someone should take Bradley's picture after Yao torched him. I'll bet that Bradley is not nearly as tall as Yao after the game.
Yao is 7'6 3/4 with shoes. He is actually one of few players who is listed shorter than he actually is. KG being the other as far as I know. And nearly all the other players are listed taller than they actually are.
In one of the interviews posted here, Yao reported his height as 223 centimeters. that comes to: ( 223 / 100 cm/m )* 39.37 in/m = 87.795 inches.. That's a shade under 7' 4", so maybe that's barefooot and after a shave <?> Dave

Anyways, also, one should also ask what time of day the measurements are made. We are usually taller in the morning after waking up. So, Yao could actually be 7'7". If he adds a thick sole to his shoe, his NBA height could then go to 7'8"
I've watched a ceremony where the Chinese Chairman Jiang asked him how tall he was. His answer was 225 cm.
