http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/sep/14/yale-student-body-found It doesn't really say how the suspect put her in the wall, i'm wondering how he pulled that off or how people found her. She was found on her wedding day too. I would post the entire article but I'm gonna let that site get some money by y'all clicking on the link, and not to piss Clutch or Kelly Drywer off...
maybe it's different in CT, but this murder case seems to have a "ho-hum" atmosphere surrounding the release of the info. like, they just casually released that there were bloody clothes found in the ceiling tiles two days ago. wouldn't that send a college community into a frenzy if a girl enters a campus building, doesn't come out and there are her bloody clothes in the tiles? then they find a body in the wall and there is no concern of possibly having a killer on the loose? it seems like they aren't naming any suspects or individuals as persons of interest and it just seems shady to me. like I said, maybe it's different in New Haven.
Was going to post this... key points of the story: -Happened 2 days before her wedding -Previously wrote a column on how to stay safe on campus -Was 4'11 and weighed nothing Whoever did it is going to get caught. There are 70+ cameras surrounding the building so they have timestamps for when people enter and leave the building. Motives will be interesting!
Suspect is arrested. A student with defensive wounds and he failed a polygraph test. The question is, what is his motive for murdering that poor girl? Crazy how he chopped her up and stuffed her in a wall. They reported the clothes found in the attic isn't hers. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32810822/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/
I don't get how the murderer expected not to get caught, since entry into the building is limited to only the researchers and technicians with access to that building. Just find out who was in the building at the time of the murder and you've narrowed it down to probably only a handful of suspects. I'm thinking the murderer worked with the victim and really hated her guts for some reason - maybe he was having an affair with the victim and didn't agree with her upcoming marriage - anyways, it definitely wasn't a random act of violence. Or he was some creepy stalker who really didnt want to see her get married. Scientists aren't really the type randomly kill people..and if they were into that sort of thing, they would conceal it carefully.
yeah i gathered the exact same response when i first read about it this morning... like people really didn't care all that much. really, really odd situation.
What a complete and utter waste of a seemingly great person with a wonderful future. Probably didn't want her to get married. Calling it a wall is likely not accurate. Labs often have places with plumbing that are normally not open but easy to get to. Labs have so much more plumbing and vents so they need them to be easier to get to then a house or office.
It's weird that the only reaction anyone seems to have is "wow, that's scary that there's a killer on campus." Where's the sympathy and condolences for the victim and her family, friends, and fiance? It's almost like people don't really care about the crime or the victim.....just that it happened near them.
I don't get the mind of a murderer, why would he stay behind and let the police question him? If I was planning on murdering somebody, I'd have booked a plane ticket on the same day to the Middle East or somewhere highly remote.
If people were devastated whenever a death occurred near them nothing would get done. It may be insensitive but why lose sleep over someone you never met, never would have met, and knew nothing about?
I surmise that there are alot of Edgar Allan Poe fans out there amongst murderers... In pace requiescat
