Mentioned at the very end of the article....

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?sl...m_campaign=br_milbucks&utm_source=twitter.com

"Don’t be surprised if the Warriors make a run at injured Houston Rockets center Yao Ming(notes) after he becomes a free agent this summer. While Yao is expected to be out as long as 10 months after undergoing ankle surgery, the Warriors have long wanted to add him to help boost their profile in the area’s Asian community. Seldom-used rookie guard Jeremy Lin(notes) is nearly as popular as Stephen Curry(notes) and Monta Ellis(notes). The Warriors would jump at signing Yao for a reasonable price."

these articles are stupid.. it's just a random writer with nothing to write about. They are not based on facts or sources or any inside information from the warriors front office. It's just like any random fan on this bbs claiming the following

"The Lakers will jump on any chance to sign Yao Ming to boost their popularity in the Asian Community. Los Angeles is home to one of the largest asian communities in the US and signing Yao will help boost revenue. "

what I wrote has just as much credibility as the crap article above.

Excellent idea, they could even move them out to Shanghai, get their first Chinese expansion team and even keep the name....Shanghai Warriors. It even SOUNDS good.

So they want to put two Chinese dudes on the end of the bench?

Yeah, hire Jackie Chan as their kicking coach. I'm sure their opponent will avg less than 50 ppg.

...it would be funny if they also got Yi and someone sued them for discriminating against white and black players. Wouldn't they have the league's Asian population cornered at that point? I know there were a few Asian deep bench guys on NBA rosters several years back but I don't think any of them are in the league anymore.

They tried to trade Andris Biedrins for Yao last year and Rox laughed. Wouldn't be suprised if they threw some cash at Yao to come on over.

LOL, Warriors have no problem admitting they will use some players as a source of indirect revenue.

Yao Ming and Jeremy Lin would probably put them on Forbes most valuable franchises. *chuckle*
