It's about time Houston gets some love. People always forget that Houston is the fourth largest city in the US and that we're the largest city in Texas. Not Dallas.

    America's Most Underrated Cities
    1. Baltimore, Maryland
    2. Fort Lauderdale, Florida
    3. Houston, Texas
    4. Kansas City, Missouri
    5. Louisville, Kentucky

    3. Houston
Houston is proof that everything is indeed bigger in Texas. While better known for its big business and energy interests, this sprawling city also hosts top-notch orchestra, opera, and ballet companies, a dynamic theater scene, great museums, and the world- renowned NASA Space Center. Shopping reigns supreme here – you'll find a huge concentration of shops and above-par outlet malls – and its cosmopolitan restaurant scene expands upon the state's traditional Tex-Mex offerings. Bold and impressive architecture helps define the cityscape, too – including the mammoth Astrodome – making this fourth-largest U.S. city a true star in the Lone Star State.[/b]

Cool, Ft. Lauderdale made it. I also like the surrounding Baltimore areas.

I've lived in Houston for more than a decade and never went to NASA. I heard it was boring.

It is pretty boring - I haven't been to the new theme park thing, but I can imagine it's not that great.

Seeing the Saturn V in person though is amazing - it's hard to believe something so large could actually get off the ground.

Hyping up the Astrodome as impressive architecture? We're trying to tear it down.

I've spent several months in and around Baltimore, and aside from the inner harbor, the town is a hell hole. Verrrrry few redeeming qualities at all. Not a fan

Unless you count the 5-7 levels of offices below ground in the Dome. Taking the entire architecture of both stadiums into account they're actually about the same hieght. Reliant is more impressive looking though.

The Astrodome was impressive like 40 years ago. It has since fallen into disrepair. The best thing about Houston is its low cost of living. But it's not a fun place to visit at all.

Yeah, Houston seems like a better place to live than to visit - if that makes sense.

Agreed...I love the city, but there isn't much for a visitor to do. The only reason to visit Houston is if you have family/friends here...otherwise, you're gonna be bored as hell.

Then again, I feel the same about most US cities. The only cities that I feel are worth vacationing to are NYC, Las Vegas, Boston, San Francisco, and possibly some sort of Southern California roadtrip.
