    what do you all think?

i feel that time zone difference is the biggest factor in this. it just wouldn't seem to work out. we're used to our teams playing on average about every other night during the regular season. this couldn't happen with an over seas type of schedule.

i'm an open minded person, but a part of me feels that the nba should be our own thing. that's why the euro league is there, and the nba is here.

Kenny is the man! check out this analogy from the article:

Growing up in New York City, this reminds me of the time when all of the hot rappers came from New York – Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, Run-D.M.C., etc. Then someone realized that, damn, they're rapping in Cali, too, with N.W.A. and Ice-T. Even Coolio ain't half-bad. (OK, I'm overdoing it.) Then came the Dirty South with Outkast and Dungeon Family. Then the Midwest popped off with Bone Thugs and Common … you get my drift?

Don't ever say Kenny is a Yao hater!

There is talent out there, and it's creeping into the NBA instead of making a splash all at once. Don't sleep! Do you really think a team featuring Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Dirk Nowitzki couldn't contend? Hell, the past two MVPs came from Canada and Germany. Yao Ming could be next.

While the topic of EuroExpansion is an interesting one, that article was terribly written and Kenny doesn't seem like a very bright bulb.

Agreed, but it was positively Shakespearean compared to Scoop Jackson.

    kenny's article was excellent.
many people don't get that analogy of KRS-ONE and the east/west coast rappers.

    Whoop Whoop

My sources indicate LUXURY haylofts with all the accoutrements being drawn up in Hellas as we speak.

Pretty ridiculous as written. Adding six teams adds 90 players to the league. Yes Kenny, the league is already shallow with talent. No Kenny, there are not 90 NBA ready players in Europe holding out from the NBA because they want to stay east of the Atlantic.

Additionally, you already have evidence that American players avoid playing in Canada as much as possible (enter Colangelo's obvious but genius decision to target foreign talent). It will be at least as bad with Europe. Taxes are one big reason, but the simple truth is (American-born) players want to be in places like New York and LA. Guys don't usually want to go to Utah. Fewer will want to go to Berlin.

If this goes anywhere, it needs to start with moving the NBDL to Europe (shades of NFL Europe). More realistically, the league doing more exhibitions, preseason games, and possibly an All Star Game overseas is the right way to globalize.

    Learn from the Vancouver Grizzlies.

I lived in Barcelona for 6 months. 12 hour flights suck. I really don't think NBA players, coaches, etc would be all that excited about that development. Perhaps if they have some sort of super jet that gets them there in 6 hours or under? I don't know.

I agree with emjohn that getting American players to play there would likely be a nightmare. Well, they might not have any trouble getting players to play in Amsterdam. In fact, I think they'd be lined up and fighting to the death for the right to play in Amsterdam.

Kenny is weak on TNT. He just agrees with everything that Barkley says.

TNT should fire him and hire Sam I Am once he retires, since Sam was the PG who helped win us championships. Kenny only played 1 good game in the finals, game 1 vs Magic. Harper and Penny owned his sorry self.

you can't be a traitor if you help win a team their only 2 championships.
that's like saying Jerry Rice is a traitor to the 49ers cause he dances with the stars.

people are just JEALOUS of Kenny's success.
TNT. Yahoo. Google. plus a TV show with Jamie Foxx.

    Hate on.

he's so lousy that TNT wins an Emmy and Kenny keeps getting endorsements.
Yeah, if I were God, i'd throw you in a cell with just Stephen A Smith on the tube all day. Then you tell me you hate Kenny.

at least stephen a can think for himself. now i wouldn't want to be in the same studio as stephen a because he will spit all over me, but watching on the tube is fine by me.

i don't hate kenny, i thought he was lousy when he was on 610, i think he is lousy on tnt. barkley is the one that carries him on tnt.

I don't think TNT won an emmy because of Kenny. No one watches it for Kenny, you watch it for Chuck. At least I do/did. Not that I think Charles is the best analyst in the world, he is just entertaining to me, much moreso than Charles. In fact I would almost (almost) equate Kenny on TNT to Clyde's commentating. I can't think of a time Kenny said something completely r****ded but in terms of un-interesting-ness, they are almost equal to me.

That being said I like Kenny and wish him luck. I don't understand where all this hate is coming from.

What about a TRUE Second Season
    Basically have Two Leagues
    and
At the End of the seasons. . the two champions play

    Rocket River
    Like Baseball use to be
don't play in the regular season . . only at the end

It IS possible, and yet, not in the near future.

Book this sentence: "expand your mind and be global"

btw, what's the meaning of the term - "NBA purist"? who mind interpreting it clearly?

In context, I guess it refers to people who thought basketball is our game and that European players are inferior?
