If scola doesn't get locked up by the rox, then the organization is an epic fail. Scola is the most valuable player that earns only 3 million a year. He should be untouchable next to yao. I can't belive the rumor of him for amare.

Fran seems to really like him, this is not the first time he speaks good things about Scola.

About the Scola for Amare rumor, i think it was not incredible, as Amare is way better than Scola on the offensive end and quite the same in defense, he would have made us better than Scola.

I'm torn, actually. Around the time of the rumors I would have agreed with you completely, but Scola has continued to impress me for two seasons now.

And besides, I think off the court Amare is whiny and egotistical a la Tracy.

I agree, i just said it´s not crazy to hear a trade rumor when you are getting a superstar player for a good role player. The rumor is gonna happen and you cannot feel shocked.

He's only figuratively standing with all the flopping he does.

Scola is a competitor and everyone likes a competitor. The man doesn't complaint. He just tries hard.

+1... Expect to see him to do well again in game 4 cause yao will suck in an extra defender as usual leaving Scola open.

I don't know. Amare's work at Phoenix makes me think while he has more talent then Scola, his repeated health issues are a problem. Maybe its all the running he has to do in the Suns offense, I don't know, but I'd be real careful before trading away easily the most consistent scorer the team has.

He's getting wide open looks with the defense they're playing against Yao. I mean WIDE open. Landry can get the same looks as well. As long as they keep hitting that 15-18 foot jumper and our defense is adequate, we should be able to overcome Yao putting up smaller numbers.

He's definitely got some skills. If we don't make good long-term on the steal we got from San Antonio, it would be grounds to walk the plank.

Morey, if ye' be who we think ye arrrrre, get it done, mate. ;)

An intangible that he has is he is durable, hasn't missed a game. Has he ever been injured, Euro league or otherwise (knock on wood)? Hadn't heard the rumor about Amare for him but if I was Phoenix I would think about doing it, it's not as lopsided as you would think.

he's my favorite player on the team as of right now :D

dude never seems to get down on himself when he struggles (say to start game 3) and continues to fight.

Yeah, he had some tough breaks from the unfriendly bounce early and never got down. Always had his head up.

i wish he takes 15-16 shots a game actually. b/c dude rarely gets double teams, he can easily take most PFs in the post and do his thing. he really doesn't need yao to get his (say to start the 2nd quarter where he was a MONSTER) for us and increased the lead.

he needs to continue to take 15 shots per, he makes them at a good % and gets a lot of good looks because of all the attention to Yao and Ron.

IF Scola were to take that many shots and improve his offensive stats you'd be sure that opposing defences would take notice. He wouldn't be getting the open looks he does not. That's why if he becomes an allstar calibre player, he'd be perfect with Yao?

"Who do we double?" Says the opposing bigs. We can't leave either of them open!! nooo!

If an opposing SF doubles on Scola, then artest or wafer can punish.

    What I'm saying is this:
The Rockets can be an elite championship calibre team with its current roster (with maybe a legit backup centre added). HOWEVER, this all depends on Scola and how RA utilises him and let's him take more shots.

Rather than having a "big three" like other teams, i think we can be a great championship team with a good balance of players who can all step up if they need to. It's like the Pistons before losing Ben Wallace. They didn't really have superstars, however their all-round team just worked together to win titles and get to finals.

I like to see how ppl, even the doubters, are warming up to Scola. As for me, from the second i saw him play i knew he could be what he is and still much more. I love his attitude, attitude is everything and the guy has the best attitude ive ever seen, he is amazing, my hero lol.
