Here They Go Again: Whitesnake Hit 10 Million Views On YouTube
Posted Wed Aug 4, 2010 12:29pm PDT by Lyndsey Parker

Back in 1987 when the original video vixen, Tawny Kitaen, first cartwheeled atop her future ex-husband David Coverdale's Jaguar XL (and into metal fans' hearts) in Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" video, she and the band probably had no idea how iconic that image would become. But this week, it was announced that the video has generated more than 10 million views on YouTube, after being available on the site for only a year. That may not sound too impressive compared to record-holder Justin Bieber's nearly 250 million spins, but considering that the "Here I Go Again" video made its MTV premiere 23 years ago (and that the song was actually first recorded in 1982), it's remarkable that it has held up so well.

^ I remember getting to these here 'States and watching this video on MTV... and it was tops on their lists...

Something amazing is that no one is going to TV to watch music videos anymore... and I was wondering where I could watch music videos in HD that were in a particular show or channel, but I couldn't find any.

Is YOUTUBE the new "MTV + VH1"??

Too bad I don't have my PC's DVI connected to my big-screen TV.

I'm on dialup right now so I can't watch the vid, but I wonder which version they are talking about...the radio-friendly version or the album version? Two totally different songs imo.

Industrial area just right off the channel...it isnt exactly high priority for the telcos to run high speed out here, its all businesses who have no need for high speed internet(and if they did need it, they could buy a dedicated line).....its a downside of working out here.

Nice to see there are people out there that still appreciate great music. Whitesnake is pure class.
Fool for your loving, Crying in the rain, Bad Boys, Is this love, Love aint no stranger, Now your gone, Don't break my heart again, so many songs of theirs that I just love so much, too many to count. One of the few great hard rock bands I have yet to see live. Hope I get to see them in concert before it's too late.

Although I loves me some Tommy Aldridge, I absolutely can not STAND Whitesnake.

I remember not being allowed to watch MTV because my parents saw this video, "Girls, Girls, Girls" and "I want your Sex".

Thank god they worked while I was home from school haha.

When you see the list of Youtube's All Time Most Viewed, you just gotta scatch your head. More things change, more things stay the same with bubble gum teen pop takeovers
    http://www.youtube.com/videos?lg=EN&s=mp&t=a

Best "old" bands from that list -

    Aerosmith - I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing
    67,289,926 views

    Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
    42,647,227 views

    AC/DC - Thunderstruck
    41,334,462 views

There was the big Viacom sweep from years back removing vids that were on MTV or VH-1. I bet Whitesnake was on there years ago but they removed it, or it'd have even more views
