Washington-Minnesota made trade By Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports 25 minutes ago http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-wasmintrade062309&prov=yhoo&type=lgns The Washington Wizards have acquired Minnesota Timberwolves guards Randy Foye(notes) and Mike Miller(notes) for Etan Thomas(notes), Oleksiy Pecherov(notes) and Darius Songaila and the fifth pick in Thursday’s NBA draft, a league executive with knowledge of the deal told Yahoo! Sports.
Bill: "Oh you gotta watch out for that Randy Foye now!" Clyde: "Guhuhuhahaha he's going to be a perennial all-star for many years to come."
Man I really like that move for Washington! 5 pick is too risky, Foye has just as much promise as anyone at 5. If they don't dump Jamison for nothing then watch out (assuming Arenas, Butler, Haywood are healthy)!
Minny better hope Rubio is there! Now Morey, if you want Rubio, call up division "rival" and good friend Chris Wallace
Haha, he must be killing himself. Wasn't he a big lover of Foye? Damn, nice pickup for Washington. There really stacked at SG and SF positions so they might do some more trades soon.
It was reported that the new Minny president/GM wants to do something big. It was suggested it was Rubio who he was after. If the Rockets can get their hands on the Grizzlies pick they might be able to hold the T-Wolves to ransom like they did to Portland with the Batum pick.
Oh how bad it would suck if Rubio isnt there for them. Well I guess not since there are other guards but still. I dont think that team can carry any more (P)Fs and Cs.
harden and jennings picked 5 and 6? the wolves will still look like crap. They need more facilitators.
good move for the wizards foye was coming on real strong at the end of last season and it lets them move gilbert to the 2 spot where he can still thrive (depending on his health) having miller come off the bench gives them a great 2/3 backup rotation of Young and Miller. the 5th pick in a fairly weak draft they couldnt expect much else and got right of some of their bad contracts Foye/arenas/james Arenas/Young/Miller Butler/Miller/Young Jamison/blatche Haywood/Mcgee thats really not a bad lineup at all right there if they can remain healthy...that should be up in the top 3 in the east behind boston and orlando IMO (yes i think the cavs will regress next season if they do not make any moves)
Where's deshawn "im better than lebron" stevenson? I don't this puts them over the cavs, who had the best regular season in the NBA.
i think a lot of the cavs season was fools gold they were exposed by the magic, which you could say was a bad matchup but honestly look at that team and its down right terrible outside of lebron...It goes to show what an amazing player lebron is, you give him any decent supporting cast or even a legit 2nd all-star (mo williams is NOT an all-star in my book) and that team is deadly. I think teams will now adjust greatly and play that cavs a lot better...unless they make a move to get a legit all-star on that team I dont see them replicating this past seasons success. boston, orlando and washington had to all deal with major injuries to their key players last season so expect them to do all better this year if they can remain healthy.
